Role of ICT in Education

Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and Department of Computer Science and Applications, BabbarAkali Memorial Khalsa College, Garhshankarorganized five days FDP ( 4th May ,2021to 8th May,2021)  on Role of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in Education .The  timing of  FDP was 11.00 A.M. to 12 P.M. for five days. The FDP was conducted on Google Meet platform. Teachers from the other departments and from other colleges  participated in this FDP.

The programme was e-inaugurated and presided over by the Principal of the college, Dr. Baljit Singh. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. kanwarKulwantSingh(Coordinator IQAC) emphasized on the significance and  importance  of ICT based tools in the teaching-learning process.

Dr. JankiAggarwal ,Organizing Secretary, formally welcomed the resource persons, Dr. Ajay Dutta ( HOD – Department of Computer Science and Applications) ,Prof.Harpreet(Department of Computer Science and Applications) ,Prof. NehaDhiman(Department of Computer Science and Applications) , Prof. Kamini( Department of Computer Science and Applications).She detailed on the aims and objectives of the workshop.

The workshop comprised of 5 technical  sessions  which were conducted by Dr. Ajay Dutta ( HOD – Department of Computer Science and Applications),Prof.Harpreet(Department of Computer Science and Applications), Prof. NehaDhiman(Department of Computer Science and Applications), Prof. Kamini( Department of Computer Science and Applications).The schedule  of  topics was as following:

The workshop included online hands-on session where the resource  persons demonstrated the practical usage of the ICT tools.

The workshop was to create awareness about the new ICT tools, including sessions Logo editing,Poster Design, Certificate Designing, Google Form Designing, Google Classroom, Google Meet, Pdf File Operations,Automatic Certificate Generation, Microsoft word,Microsoft Powerpoint,Cyber Security and online course content development process.

The workshop targeted at the developing fashion of integrating the ICT into education, validated a way to create enticing and interactive multimedia and brought a number of the satisfactory apps and ICT solutions for teachers.

At the end of session, Prof. kanwarKulwantSingh(Coordinator IQAC)  expressed his gratitude to all who attended the  5  days workshop. We hope attendees learned something new about our increasing ‘Role of  ICT in Education’ and made some fruitful connections throughout the all days. The workshop was made possible through the generous support of  IQAC cell in collaboration with Department of Computer Science and Applications. We thank our resource persons for helping make the event a success.
