Kargil Vijay Diwas celebrated at Khalsa College

Kargil Vijay Diwas was commemorated on 27 of august with solemnity and pride by the Ex-Servicemen Social Welfare Trust Garhshankar, in collaboration with the NCC unit of the college. The event honored the bravery and sacrifices of the Kargil martyrs.

The ceremony was graced by distinguished guests, including Captain Amarjit Singh Gulpur, Subedar Kewal Singh Bajjal (General Secretary), Subedar Sukhjinder Singh Fatehpur, College Principal Dr. Amandeep Heera, Prof. Lakhwinderjit Kaur, Dr. Gurpreet Singh, Jaswant Singh Bhatal (President of Shere Punjab Kisan Union Garhshankar), and other respected attendees. They collectively offered floral tributes to the martyrs of the Kargil War, paying their respects to those who laid down their lives in service to the nation.

Principal Dr. Amandeep Heera and NCC In-charge Lt. Gurpreet Singh led the homage to the Kargil martyrs, reflecting on the significance of their sacrifice. Subedar Kewal Singh, in his tribute, shared insights into the challenging circumstances faced during the Kargil War and encouraged the students to draw inspiration from the courage and resilience of the soldiers. Principal Dr. Amandeep Heera emphasized that the safety and security of our country are owed to the unwavering dedication of Indian Army soldiers who guard the borders day and night.

The event also featured a special recognition ceremony where the Trust honored the NCC cadets for their exemplary participation and dedication. Cadet Jaspinder Kaur delivered a poignant speech, capturing the essence of Kargil Vijay Diwas and its importance in the nation’s history.

The occasion was attended by several prominent figures, including Advocate Jasvir Singh Rai, Bakhshish Singh Fatehpur Kala, Gyan Singh Golia, Sajjan Singh Dhamai, Subedar Balkar Singh Road Majara, Subedar Davinder Singh Birampur, Subedar Jarnail Singh Dhamai, Raghvir Singh Kalewal, Colonel Singh Dhamai, Paramjit Singh Babbar, along with NCC Cadet Ankit Singh and the college staff.

The event was a fitting tribute to the martyrs of the Kargil War, reminding all present of the valor and patriotism that define our nation’s armed forces.
