On August 23, 2024, the Department of Chemistry and the Department of Physics, in collaboration with the III-Society of Science Students, celebrated a significant event: an elocution/essay writing competition on the theme of “National Space Day.” The competition saw enthusiastic participation from 27 students, showcasing their insights and creative thoughts on this important topic. The event was meticulously organized by the dedicated teaching faculty of the Physics and Chemistry departments, ensuring a smooth and engaging experience for all involved. Dr. Preetinder Singh delivered an insightful address on the importance of National Space Day, enriching the students’ understanding of the significance of space exploration and its impact on scientific advancement. The presence of esteemed faculty members—Dr. Manbeer Kaur, Dr. Mukesh Sharma, Prof. Neeraj Virdi, and Prof. Amanpreet Kaur—added a layer of academic prestige to the occasion. Their support and involvement were instrumental in the success of the event. The celebration concluded with a poignant address by Dr. Amandeep Heera, the worthy Principal of B.A.M. Khalsa College, Garhshankar. Dr. Heera emphasized the critical importance of National Space Day, underscoring the value of space exploration in fostering scientific curiosity and innovation.
