One Day Intra-College Article Writing Competition on “Green Chemistry: The Science of Sustainable Solutions”.

Under the visionary leadership of College Principal Dr. Amandeep Heera, the Chemistry Department in collaboration with the III-Society of Science Students of Babbar Akali Memorial Khalsa College, Garhshankar, organized a One Day Intra-College Article Writing Competition on August 27, 2026, at 12:20 PM. The theme for the competition was “Green Chemistry: The Science of Sustainable Solutions.” In the event, senior faculty members, Prof. Lakhwinderjit Kaur (Vice Principal), Dr. Amandeep Kaur, Dr. Manbeer Kaur, Dr. Mukesh Sharma (HoD Chemistry), Prof. Deepika and teaching faculty of the chemistry department were present. A total of 19 students from various academic streams participated in the competition, presenting insightful articles focused on eco-friendly chemical processes and sustainable scientific methods. The 1st prize was nailed by Sheetal, a student of B.Sc. 2nd Year, 2nd prize was given to Simran Kaur, a student of M.Sc. Chemistry 1st Year & 3rd prize was awarded to the Anjali Kaur, a student of B.Sc. 1st Year. There were two consolation prizes given to Inderjit Kaur of B.Sc. 1st Year & Shivani of B.Sc. 2nd Year. The event successfully encouraged scientific inquiry and awareness among students regarding green chemistry and environmental sustainability. The college’s vice principal, Prof. Lakhwinderjit Kaur commended all participants for their active involvement and motivate all the students to partcipate in the future events as well.
