Student (Navjot Kaur Msc IT) prepared speech on national unity day and Explained to the students.

1) Sardar Patel, who is known as “Iron Man of India” and Bismarck of India, is one of the most influential politicians and freedom fighters of India.
2) He became the first Deputy Prime Minister of India and the first Home Minister after independence.
3) He was born on 31st October 1875 in Nadiad, a small village in Gujarat.
4) Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s biggest contribution was organizing the princely states and incorporating them in the federal structure. In June 1948, Lord Louis Mountbatten, India’s last viceroy, left office and urged the Nizam one last time to consider acceding to India. With Mountbatten gone, Patel decided to take direct action and sent the Indian army into Hyderabad in September. On September 18, Operation Polo was terminated and Hyderabad was absorbed into India.
Compared to the accession of Hyderabad and Junagadh, where Patel had to use force or the threat of it, Kashmir’s case was more complicated. The tribal invasion and Patel’s persuasion finally led the Maharaja to hand over signed accession papers to Menon on October 26, 1947. Patel lost no time in sending the Indian Army to Srinagar. By the end of the year, the invaders were pushed back across the Jhelum. Winter halted the progress of the operation. The Pakistan army arrived on the scene by the time the winter ended, forcing a stand-off between the two countries at what is describe today as the Line of Control.
5) For this reason, every year we celebrate 31st October as “National Unity Day “.
6) Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel was posthumously(after the death) awarded the Bharat Ratna Award in 1991.
7) The word ‘Sardar’ means a chief leader. This title was bestowed upon him by Mahatma Gandhi during the freedom struggle.
As a freedom fighter who did not cooperate with the British, he was jailed many times during the struggle for independence.
After India was free from British rule, Sardar Patel worked hard to bring the entire country together for a strong national integration. This is why he is called the ‘Iron Man of India’.
8) His birth anniversary is observed as ‘Rashtriya Ekta Divas’ or the ‘National Unity Day in India so that we never forget his message of strength in being united.
9) Sardar Patel’s statue in Gujarat is known as the Statue of Unity. It is a popular destination, being the tallest statue in the world.

Career Guidance and Counselling Cell of B.A.M Khalsa college,Garhshankar organised Two days workshop on ‘Mental Maths’ on 22/9/2023-23/9/2023 . The key speaker of the event was Mr. Sunil Kumar (The Mathemagician) from Haryana .Prof Preetinder Kaur inaugurated the session by welcoming the Resource Person and all the faculty members attending the program. Dr. Gurpreet Singh (Coordinator of Career Guidance and Counselling Cell and Workshop) highlighting the importance and objectives of the workshop .The purpose of the workshop was to enlighten the students with the magical  tricks and methodologies of mathematics.  Mr. Sunil kumar also signifying the importance of solving equations with amazing tricks and avoiding  old traditional style and made students cognizant of  tricks and techniques of finding square, cube, calendar dates and days of previous years. About 70 students registered and attended this workshop. Principal Dr. Baljit Singh appreciated all the staff and students for this educational approach and inspire them to do more activities in future. On the closing day, Prof. Kanwar Kulwant Singh, (HOD Commerce Department) paid his vote of thanks to Mr Sunil Kumar and all the committee members present there. The workshop was ended on a satisfactory note. 

पंजाब यूनिवर्सिटी चंडीगढ़ द्वारा ऐलान किए बी.सी.ए 6th सेमेस्टर के नतीजे में बब्बर अकाली मेमोरियल खालसा कॉलेज गढ़शंकर का नतीजा शानदार रहा । कॉलेज के नतीजे संबंधी जानकारी देते कॉलेज के प्रिंसिपल डॉ बलजीत सिंह खैहरा ने बताया कि बीसीए 6th सेमेस्टर की छात्रा राजविंदर कौर ने 83 फ़ीसदी अंक प्राप्त कर पहला, नोवदीप ने 82 फ़ीसदी अंक प्राप्त कर दूसरा तथा और नेहा ने 78 फ़ीसदी अंक प्राप्त कर तीसरा स्थान प्राप्त किया । इस मौके पर प्रिंसिपल डॉक्टर बलजीत सिंह खैहरा , विभागाध्यक्ष डॉ अजय दत्ता, प्रो. मनप्रीत, प्रो पवन , प्रो. कामिनी , प्रो रूचि तथा प्रो नरिंदर जीत कौर ने छात्रों और उनके परिजनों को बधाई दी।

We invited Dr.Gurpreet Singh an Assistant Professor of Department of Commerce and Economics to guide students about career and future ventures. He tells us that the knowledge is the key to make your career. Studying and holding a degree in hand will not benefit until you have the right skills. He provides knowledge about local level, national level and international level to make career.

After that Dr. Ajay Dutta (HOD) Department Of Computer Science and Applications provide a very valuable guidance about career through presentation. He tells students after B.C.A many fields available you choose like Internships, Own Business start up, School Service Commission, Indian Railway Services, all competitive Exams etc. And he also tells about further studies post graduation like (MCA, M.sc IT, NET/SET) and so on. He tells about how to verified company profiles through www.glassdoor.co.in and provides important links for internships to studies and encourages applying them. He provides information about govt. Sector as well as private sector platforms.
