Workshop on AI Tools

A Workshop on AI Tools was successfully organized on 5 October 2025 at the ICT Room, Department of Computer Science. The workshop was conducted under the able leadership and guidance of Dr. Amandeep Heera, Principal, whose constant support and encouragement contributed significantly to the success of the event.

The workshop aimed to create awareness about the applications of Artificial Intelligence tools among faculty members, researchers, entrepreneurs, and students from different schools. The program focused on enhancing understanding of AI concepts and their practical use in academics, research, and real-life problem-solving.

The resource person, Dr. Ajay Dutta, delivered an insightful and informative lecture on emerging AI tools and their applications. He explained the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence and demonstrated the use of various AI-based tools for content creation, teaching support, research assistance, and productivity enhancement. He also highlighted the importance of ethical and responsible use of AI.

To make the workshop more interactive and engaging, AI-based games and hands-on activities were organized, especially for students from different schools. These games were designed to introduce core AI concepts such as logical thinking, pattern recognition, decision-making, and problem-solving in a fun and practical manner. Students participated enthusiastically, which created a lively and learner-friendly environment.

The interactive sessions encouraged curiosity, creativity, and active participation among students. Faculty members and researchers also appreciated the innovative approach of using games to explain complex AI concepts in a simple and effective way.

The workshop concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the efforts of the organizing committee, the guidance of the Principal, and the valuable contribution of the resource person. Objective of the Event

The main objective of this event was to enhance students’ understanding of Graphical User Interface (GUI) Design and to develop their skills in creating user-friendly, visually appealing, and functional digital interfaces. The session focused on bridging the gap between concept development and design implementation in modern applications.

The Department of Computer Science, in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), organized an insightful session titled “From Concept to Click: Creating Effective GUI Designs.”

The event was convened by Asst. Prof. Kamini and moderated by Asst. Prof. Navjot Kaur, under the guidance of Dr. Ajay Dutta (HOD) and Dr. Amandeep Heera (Principal).

The objective of this event was to promote awareness about Digital Empowerment and highlight how digital technologies are transforming India into a Smart Nation. The session aimed to motivate students to explore digital tools, e-governance platforms, and innovations that contribute to national development through digitalization.

The event was convened by Asst. Prof. Narinder Jit Kaur and moderated by Asst. Prof. Jagjivan Kaur, under the guidance of Dr. Ajay Dutta (HOD) and Dr. Amandeep Heera (Principal).

Students of BCA 1st Semester actively participated by preparing and presenting PowerPoint presentations on various themes related to Digital India, Smart Governance, E-services, Artificial Intelligence in Digital Transformation, and Cyber Security Awareness.

Each group of students showcased their understanding of how technology is shaping the socio-economic development of India. The presentations reflected creativity, research skills, and awareness of national digital initiatives.

Lecture on Artificial Intelligence Tools Delivered at Jalandhar Public School

On 26th September 2025, Dr. Ajay Dutta, President of the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), Babbar Akali Memorial Khalsa College, Garhshankar, delivered an informative and interactive lecture on Artificial Intelligence (AI) Tools at Jalandhar Public School.

The program was organized under the leadership of Dr. Amandeep Heera, Principal, Babbar Akali Memorial Khalsa College, Garhshankar. The session aimed to introduce students to the power of AI and its applications in the modern digital world.

During the lecture, Dr. Ajay Dutta discussed various AI-based tools that can enhance creativity, productivity, and innovation among students. He also emphasized the importance of AI literacy and how it can empower the young generation to prepare for future technological advancements.

The event was graced by the presence of the Sukhdeep Kaur (Principal ) Jalandhar Public School and Mr. B. S. Bedi, Incharge of the Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL). Both appreciated the efforts of Dr. Dutta and the IIC team of B.A.M. Khalsa College for inspiring students towards innovation and technology-driven learning.

Fun & Strategy: Indoor Games Competition by Computer Science Department

The Department of Computer Science of B.A.M. Khalsa College, Garhshankar, successfully organized an Indoor Games Competition on 13th September 2025. The event featured three popular games – Chess, Ludo, and Carrom Board – which drew enthusiastic participation from students across different classes.

The primary objective of the competition was to promote strategic thinking, patience, teamwork, and healthy recreation among students. Each game witnessed lively participation and a spirit of friendly competition. Students showcased their logical skills in Chess, teamwork and chance-based strategies in Ludo, and focus with precision in Carrom.

The event was conducted under the guidance of the faculty members of the Computer Science Department. The winners were appreciated for their performances, while all participants were encouraged for their active involvement.

The Indoor Games Competition not only provided a platform for students to display their talent but also strengthened the bond of camaraderie and sportsmanship within the department.

Introduction

The Department of Commerce and the Department of Computer Science, in collaboration with the Institutional Innovation Cell (IIC) and the Business Students Association (BSA), organized an Induction Program for the first-year students of B.Com., B.C.A., and M.Com. on 20 August 2025 at Babbar Akali Memorial Khalsa College, Garhshankar.

The purpose of the induction program was to welcome the new students, familiarize them with the institutional environment, and provide insights into academic, cultural, and entrepreneurial opportunities available at the college.


Program Highlights

  1. Welcome Address:
    The event commenced with a warm welcome to the freshers, where the faculty members introduced the vision, mission, and values of the institution.

  2. Introduction to IIC and BSA:

    • Faculty coordinators briefed the students about the Institutional Innovation Cell (IIC) and its role in promoting entrepreneurship and innovation.

    • The Business Students Association (BSA) was introduced as a platform to enhance business acumen, leadership, and collaborative learning.

  3. Departmental Orientation:

    • Faculty members from both the Commerce and Computer Science departments highlighted the curriculum structure, extracurricular activities, and career opportunities.

    • Students were encouraged to actively participate in departmental clubs and societies.

  4. Inspirational Guidance:

    • Prof. Kanwar Kulwant Singh addressed the gathering and inspired the students to work with dedication, discipline, and innovation. He emphasized the importance of holistic development and urged students to make the best use of resources provided by the college.
