The Institute’s Innovation Council, in collaboration with the Department of Computer Science and Application at B.A.M. Khalsa College, Garhshankar, hosted an inspiring guest lecture on November 25th, 2023. The workshop, titled “Entrepreneurship and innovation as career Opportunity” aimed to understand the basics of Entrepreneurship and its importance in modern society.

Objectives Of the Workshop

  • To stimulate the overall architecture of the Entrepreneurship Life cycle and how students can create innovative product by undertaking relevant

The distinguished speaker for the day was Prof. Kanwar Kulwant Singh( HOD) of Department of Commerce and Economics shared with us  views.

Visit to “Smart City – Integrated Command and Control Center ICCC”

The Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC) has been implemented in Chandigarh by BEL under the Smart City mission of the Govt. of India, to provide safety and security to citizens, efficient service deliveries and sustainable growth.

Dr. Ajay Dutta(HOD, Computer Science) has organized a visit to Smart City Integrated Command and Control Center(ICCC) for computer science students of  B.A.M. Khalsa College, Garhshankar. This trip was planned to motivate the students by providing them the practical understanding of latest technologies and how work is done in company’s environment.

Mr. Ashish, the Consultant of Smart City Project, explained us all about this project in detail. He explained that the command centre will act as the brain of the city with an on-premise data centre hosting all relevant solutions for all field systems and data analytics tools for informative decision-making, better disaster management and smarter governance. He and his team co-operated us in all ways. They also show us the whole building, computer labs, and their server workstations.

This trip was memorable to everyone. Also, Mr. Ashish has invited the new ideas from our students to make the city smarter. In the last minutes, Dr. Ajay Dutta thanked them to give us their precious time, knowledge and information about the project “Smart City”.




Technical Seminar on “Smart Engineering for a better World” on the occasion of 55th Engineers’ day Celebration

The Institution of Engineers (India) in collaboration with ASHRAE Chandigarh Chapter (American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers) organized Technical Seminar on “Smart Engineering for a better World” on the occasion of 55th Engineers’ day celebration. This seminar was attended by many professors and students of different engineering colleges.

After reaching the venue, everyone has to do registration first. Refreshment was available for every participant. Dr. Baljit Singh Khehra (Principal, B.A.M. Khalsa College, Garhshankar), Er. Sukhvir Singh Mundi(Chairman, The Institution of Engineers, India) along with Committee Members of Punjab and Chandigarh State Centre formally welcomed the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour.

The programme was inaugurated by Chairman Er. S.S.Mundi FIE by giving a presentation, and a brief introduction on the life and achievements of Bharat Ratna “Sir M. Visvesvaraya”.  The keynote address on the theme was also delivered by Dr. Balkar Singh FIE, Former Joint Director, Punjab Energy Development Agency, Chandigarh.

Many presentations were delivered by students. Mr. Tanjot Singh(Ex-student of B.A.M. Khasla College, Garhshankar) also delivered a presentation on Artificial Intelligence. The honorable Chief Guest and the Guest of honour also addressed the audience. The Mementoes have been presented to the students who delivered presentation.

In the end of seminar, thanks speech was delivered by Prof.(Dr.) Baljit Singh Khehra FIE, Honorary Secretary of  “The Institution of Engineers(India)” (Principal, Babbar Akali Memorial Khalsa College, Garhshankar).




Students Interaction with Research Scholar Vijeta Saini

Department of Computer Science & Applications organized a guest lecture by research scholar Vijeta Saini. She is a Ph.D. research scholar at Northeastern University, with a concentration in Global Shakespeare Studies, Performance Studies, and Cultural Memory Studies. She has visited various countries during her research work.

                 

                 




BIIC Conference On 5th March,2022 At Chandigarh

On 5th March 2022, the All India Seminar “Business Intelligence with Intelligent Computing” was triumphantly concluded under the aegis of chairman IEI Sukhvir Singh Mundi, Prof. (Dr.) T.S. Kamal (Former Vice President IEI) and Honorary Secretary IEI Principal Dr. Baljit Singh, which was co-organised by IEI Punjab & Chandigarh State Centre in collaboration with the Department of Computer Science and Applications & the Department Commerce and Economics of B.A.M. Khalsa College Garhshankar.

Two offline technical sessions were conducted today, during which the participants enthusiastically presented their research papers. These sessions were co-chaired by Dr. Arjan Singh Assistant Professor Punjabi University Patiala, Dr. Balkrishan, Associate Professor Yadvindra College of Engineering Punjabi University Talwandi Sabo and Dr. Rohini Sharma Chairperson Department of Computer Science and Applications Panjab University Chandigarh. The best paper presentation awards were also bestowed upon the winners.

Prof. Dr Amar Pratap Singh SLITE Longowal, Dr Labh Singh (Retd.) Central Government Officer and Prof. Dr Satwinder Singh Executive Committee Member IEI & HOD Department of Computer Science and Technology Central University of Punjab Bathinda delivered their keynote addresses. In the end Guest of Honour Dr Gaurav Kumar founder Director of MAGMA Research & Consultancy Services, Ambala and Chief Guest Prof. Dr Arvind Kalia, Dean of Studies, Himachal Pradesh University were honoured by the entire fraternity who industriously worked to make the seminar a grand success.

 




BIIC Conference on 4th March,2022 at Chandigarh

On Friday 04-03-2022, The Institution of Engineers (India) in an efficacious collaboration with the Department of Computer Science and Applications with the Department Commerce and Economics of B.A.M. Khalsa College Garhshankar successfully organized an All India Seminar on “Business Intelligence with Intelligent Computing” at Engineers Bhawan under the aegis of Chairman IEI Sukhvir Singh Mundi, Honorary Secretary IEI and Principal Dr Baljit Singh.

An Award of Honour was conferred on Chief Guest revered Prof. Dr T.S. Kamal and guest of honour to esteemed Dr Ravinder Singh Zandu who graced the seminar and promulgated the monumental breakthroughs from his seminal pieces of research works, which caught the rapt attention of the audience.

Post the luncheon Dr A.S. Balgir IOFS (Retd.) FIE and Dr Jagtar Singh Prof. & Head Punjabi University Patiala delivered their keynote addresses. While Dr Anuj Gupta Assistant Professor Panjab University and Principal Dr Harmandeep Singh Gill chaired the offline technical session wherein the participants from various top-tier colleges presented their manuscripts.




Role of ICT in Education

Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) and Department of Computer Science and Applications, BabbarAkali Memorial Khalsa College, Garhshankarorganized five days FDP ( 4th May ,2021to 8th May,2021)  on Role of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in Education .The  timing of  FDP was 11.00 A.M. to 12 P.M. for five days. The FDP was conducted on Google Meet platform. Teachers from the other departments and from other colleges  participated in this FDP.

The programme was e-inaugurated and presided over by the Principal of the college, Dr. Baljit Singh. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. kanwarKulwantSingh(Coordinator IQAC) emphasized on the significance and  importance  of ICT based tools in the teaching-learning process.

Dr. JankiAggarwal ,Organizing Secretary, formally welcomed the resource persons, Dr. Ajay Dutta ( HOD – Department of Computer Science and Applications) ,Prof.Harpreet(Department of Computer Science and Applications) ,Prof. NehaDhiman(Department of Computer Science and Applications) , Prof. Kamini( Department of Computer Science and Applications).She detailed on the aims and objectives of the workshop.

The workshop comprised of 5 technical  sessions  which were conducted by Dr. Ajay Dutta ( HOD – Department of Computer Science and Applications),Prof.Harpreet(Department of Computer Science and Applications), Prof. NehaDhiman(Department of Computer Science and Applications), Prof. Kamini( Department of Computer Science and Applications).The schedule  of  topics was as following:

The workshop included online hands-on session where the resource  persons demonstrated the practical usage of the ICT tools.

The workshop was to create awareness about the new ICT tools, including sessions Logo editing,Poster Design, Certificate Designing, Google Form Designing, Google Classroom, Google Meet, Pdf File Operations,Automatic Certificate Generation, Microsoft word,Microsoft Powerpoint,Cyber Security and online course content development process.

The workshop targeted at the developing fashion of integrating the ICT into education, validated a way to create enticing and interactive multimedia and brought a number of the satisfactory apps and ICT solutions for teachers.

At the end of session, Prof. kanwarKulwantSingh(Coordinator IQAC)  expressed his gratitude to all who attended the  5  days workshop. We hope attendees learned something new about our increasing ‘Role of  ICT in Education’ and made some fruitful connections throughout the all days. The workshop was made possible through the generous support of  IQAC cell in collaboration with Department of Computer Science and Applications. We thank our resource persons for helping make the event a success.

Department of Computer science and Applications celebrating “National App Day”in Babbar
Akali Memorial Khalsa College, Garhshankar. This celebration is organised offline in
Department of Computer Science & Applications. In this celebration all students of computer
science & applications department were participated.
Miss.Neerja Anand student of BCA 1 st year formally welcomed the chief guest of the day
Dr.Baljit Singh Principal of Babbar Akali Memorial Khalsa College,Garhshankar.
The programme was e-inaugurated by the Principal of the college, Dr.Baljit Singh. Speaking on
the occasion emphasized on the significance and importance of apps in today time.
The main aim of this celebration was to subscribe the social media channels of our college
B.A.M Khalsa College, Garhshankar, launching the logo of CSC (Computer Study Circle) logo
designed by students selected by through competition and providing CSC ID Cards to Students .
For subscribing students were divided into groups with leading class in- charge teachers and they
went to other departments of the college and request students & teachers to subscribe the
YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and twitter channel of the college. Students did this work very
well and increased the subscribers on channels.
