Visit at Khatkar Kalan SBS Nagar 12/01/2025

On 12 January 2025, a group of 25 NCC cadets and 2 teachers from the NCC Unit of BAMKC visited Khatkar Kalan, SBS Nagar, as part of the Cycle Expedition Rally. The team warmly welcomed the expedition group that had begun its inspiring journey from Hussainiwala and was heading towards Delhi.

The visit aimed to foster patriotism, physical fitness, and environmental awareness among the cadets. During the event, the team paid tribute at the Shaheed Bhagat Singh Memorial, reflecting on the ideals of sacrifice and nationalism. The cadets also interacted with local residents and shared the objectives of the expedition, promoting the spirit of unity and discipline.

The activity ended with a brief ceremony appreciating the efforts of all participants. The visit served as a meaningful experience that strengthened the cadets’ commitment to the values of the National Cadet Corps and their dedication to serving the nation.




SNIC Kakinada (AP) -02/10/2024 to 13/10/2024

SUO Ankit from B.A.M. Khalsa College was selected by the Commanding Officer through an interview to participate in the SNIC Camp held at Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, from 2nd October 2024 to 13th October 2024. The camp provided valuable exposure and experience in discipline, leadership, and national integration among cadets from different regions.




PM Rally Cycle Expedition 10-19/12/2024 ( Pre-Camp)

The Pre-Camp PM Rally Cycle Expedition was organized from 10th December to 19th December 2024 as a preparatory event for the forthcoming Prime Minister’s Rally. The camp aimed to train and select deserving cadets for participation in the final cycle expedition and to instill in them the values of discipline, teamwork, endurance, and leadership.

Cadets Paramjeet and Harpreet Kaur actively participated in this pre-camp with great enthusiasm and dedication. During the ten-day camp, the cadets underwent rigorous physical training, cycling practice sessions, road safety briefings, and endurance-building exercises. They also received valuable guidance on maintaining cycle efficiency, group coordination during long rides, and first-aid management during expeditions.

Apart from physical training, various sessions on motivation, national integration, environmental awareness, and leadership development were conducted. Both cadets performed commendably in all assigned activities and displayed excellent team spirit and determination throughout the camp.

The pre-camp not only helped cadets enhance their physical fitness and mental resilience but also prepared them for future participation in national-level events like the PM Rally. It served as a platform for grooming disciplined and responsible citizens capable of representing their unit with pride.

Republic Day 26/01/2025

The 76th Republic Day was observed on January 26, 2025, by the B.A.M. Khalsa College NCC Unit. This event was held at Govt Sr. Sec. School, Garhshankar in collaboration with the local government. The chief guest raised the national flag to begin the Republic Day celebrations. The NCC cadets’ March Past was the highlight of the day. The cadets marched to the sound of drums and performed the drill performance with precision. Several NCC contingents marched in the March Past. The fact that schoolchildren displayed a range of cultural performances made the event noteworthy.

Augmented and Virtual Reality Bootcamp 03-07, March, 2025 by NIELET

Five-day bootcamp (March 3 – March 7, 2025)

The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), Career Guidance and Placement Cell, and the Department of Computer Science at Babbar Akali Memorial Khalsa College, Garhshankar, in collaboration with the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), Chandigarh, proudly inaugurated the Augmented & Virtual Reality Bootcamp on February 28th, 2025. This bootcamp, conducted under the FutureSkills PRIME Scheme, aims to provide participants with in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in AR/VR technologies and game development.

The inaugural session commenced in the esteemed presence of Dr. Amandeep Heera, Principal of the College, who extended a warm welcome to all distinguished guests, faculty members, and students. He emphasized the significance of emerging technologies like Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) in revolutionizing industries and creating new career opportunities for students.
Dr. Sarwan Singh, Joint Director, NIELIT, delivered the keynote address, highlighting the increasing demand for AR/VR applications in various sectors, including gaming, healthcare, education, and entertainment. He encouraged students to leverage this bootcamp as a stepping stone for developing industry-relevant skills.
The event was also graced by Prof. Kanwar Kulwant Singh (HOD, Commerce Department), Prof. Gurpreet Singh Kalsi and Prof. Deepika (Convener, IIC). Dr. Ajay Dutta (President, IIC) also addressed the audience, discussing the role of AR/VR technologies in fostering technical proficiency among students.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Kanwar Kulwant Singh, expressing gratitude to Dr. Sarwan Singh and his team members Mr. Lovnish Verma and Mr. Nikshep Paliwal and all attendees for their enthusiastic participation.
This five-day bootcamp (March 3 – March 7, 2025) is expected to equip students with cutting-edge knowledge, fostering innovation and skill development in AR/VR technologies.

 




Three-Week Bridge Course 02/05/2025 to 22/05/2025

 

B.A.M. Khalsa College, Garhshankar successfully conducted its first-ever Three-Week Bridge Course for 10+2 pass-out students from 02/05/2025 to 22/05/2025. A total of 35 students enthusiastically enrolled and participated in this value-added academic initiative, which aimed to equip them with essential interdisciplinary knowledge and soft skills before they enter higher education streams.The Bridge Course covered a wide range of subjects including Computer Basics, Communication Skills, Financial Literacy, General Awareness, Environmental Sustainability, Creative Expressions, and Punjabi Music, among others. The sessions were facilitated by highly qualified and experienced faculty members of the college including Prof. Lakhwinderjeet Kaur, Prof. Kanwar Kulwant Singh, Dr. Manbeer Kaur, Dr. Gurpreet Singh, Prof. Raideep Singh, Prof. Gurpreet Singh Kalsi, Dr. Harwinder Kaur, Prof. Kiranjot Kaur, Dr. Ajay Dutta, Prof. Prof. Navdeep Singh, and Dr. Naresh Kumari.

The valedictory function was held on 22nd May 2025 in the IT Lab. Dr. Gurpreet Singh, Course Coordinator and In-charge of the Career Guidance & Placement Cell (CG&PC), hosted the ceremony. He appreciated the students for their active participation and encouraged them to continue learning with the same enthusiasm. He also shared details of upcoming initiatives and events planned by the CG&PC.

Two students, Sameer and Navneet, shared heartfelt feedback, expressing gratitude to the college for providing this enriching learning opportunity free of cost. They highlighted the professionalism and dedication of the faculty members and the practical knowledge gained through the sessions.

The Principal, Dr. Amandeep Heera, congratulated the students on the successful completion of the course. She also extended her appreciation to the CG&PC and all faculty members who contributed their time and efforts to make this pioneering initiative a success. Prominent faculty members including Prof. Lakhwinderjeet Kaur, Prof. Kanwar Kulwant Singh, Dr. Manbeer Kaur, and Dr. Ajay Dutta were also present during the ceremony. Students received their certificates of participation from the principal, marking the joyful conclusion of the course. The event concluded on a cheerful and celebratory note, with students expressing great satisfaction and enthusiasm. The college takes immense pride in launching this Bridge Course for the first time and deems its successful execution a significant academic milestone.

Mega Placement Drive-cum-Self Employment Camp 10th September 2024

On 10th September 2024, five students from the Commerce stream of BAMKC had the privilege of participating in the Mega Placement Drive-cum-Self Employment Camp for Girls. This event, organized by the District Administration in collaboration with the District Employment Office, aimed to provide a platform for female students to explore both job opportunities and self-employment ventures. It was held at the prestigious St. Soldier Institute of Pharmacy and Polytechnic, Chabbewal. The initiative was a part of the larger government mission to empower women through career opportunities, backed by the financial support Department’s BSA. of the Objectives of Participation Commerce The primary goal of the students’ participation was twofold: 1. Placement Opportunities: To seek job placements by interacting with prospective employers from various sectors. 2. Entrepreneurship Exposure: To gain insights into self-employment opportunities through interactions with successful women entrepreneurs and government agencies. Key Takeaways 1. Skill Enhancement: The interviews and workshops were instrumental in helping students identify areas of improvement in both hard and soft skills. 2. Confidence Building: The exposure to real-world recruitment processes boosted the students’ confidence, especially in handling interviews and interacting with professionals. 3.
