BAMKC’s NCC Unit hosts a lecture on India’s G-20 Presidency (23/02/2023)

The G20 lecture titled “G20 and India’s Presidency” was arranged by the NCC unit of the B.A.M. Khalsa College and held on February 23, 2023, in the BAMKC’s M. Com Seminar hall. The moderator for the day was SUO Parteek. She extended a warm welcome to the academic staff, especially Professors Kanwar Kulwant Singh and Gurpreet Singh. She welcomed the seminar attendees, including the NCC cadets. Prof. Kanwar Kulwant emphasized the significance and applicability of the discussion. UO-Harmanpreet Kaur presented the related PPT. She also emphasized some of the crucial ideas that India is likely to adopt under the incoming administration, like Women’s Empowerment and Digital India. Natural Catastrophe Mechanisms for risk management, eco-friendly technology, conservation of resources, resource effectiveness, and, most importantly, the growth and development of vertical agriculture. One Earth, One Family, One Future is the slogan during India’s G-20 presidency. India has the chance to demonstrate to the world at the G20 its potential to become a global leader as well as what it is capable of once it does so. After the lecture, there was an excellent Question and Answer period. SUO gave a vote of thanks at the program’s conclusion.




Career Guidance Session (one to one) 23-25 May 2022

A special ‘Career Guidance Session’ (one-to-one), for B. Com final year students of Babbar Akali Memorial Khalsa College, Garhshankar, was organized by the Department of Commerce and Economics under the aegis of Career Guidance, Counseling, and Placement Cell. The main purpose of this session was to provide guidance to the students.  Dr. Gurpreet Singh Coordinator Career Guidance, Counselling, and Placement Cell briefed the students on various areas beyond graduation so that the students can choose the right profession while living.  Dr. Gurpreet Singh shed light on fields like Business, Government and Non-Government, Higher Education, Competitive Exams, Research, etc.  The students took full advantage of this opportunity.  The head of the Department Prof. Kanwar Kulwant Singh encouraged the children to choose the right path. Dr. Baljit Singh, Head of the Institute, lauded the initiative and wished the students all the best for the future.

 




Career Guidance Session (27/05/2022)

A special Career Guidance Session was organized by the Department of Social Sciences, Languages, and Education under the aegis of Career Guidance and Placement Cell in Collaboration with “ Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat”  on 27/05/2022 for the final year students of B.A.(General) and B.A. B.Ed. Prof. Ritu Singh, Nodal Officer of “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat” started the session with her formal speech. The session proceeded with the presentation of Prof. Navdeep Singh who was the Key speaker of this Session. He enlightened students about various Higher Educational and career-related opportunities after B.A. and B.A. B.Ed. He provided detailed information to the students about various fields which they can explore after completing their degrees.

He also talked about different competitive exams that can be cracked after B. A and B.A. B.Ed. After the presentation students were asked to put their queries which were duly addressed. At the end of the session, the Head of the  Social Sciences Deptt. Prof. Lakhwinderjeet Kaur also motivated the students to be aware of various Career related opportunities in their respective fields. At the end of the session Dr. Gurpreet Singh, coordinator of the Career Guidance and Placement cell shared his views with the students. He motivated students to be career conscious with the help of practical examples.  This session was attended by more than 50 students and 10 faculty members.  

 




Career Guidance and Counseling Session – 25th May, 2022

On 25th May 2022, there is a Career Guidance and counseling session organized by the Department of Computer Science and Applications (DCSA) at the computer lab 11’O clock. This session is held for the outgoing batches of BCA and PGDCA. We invited Dr.Gurpreet Singh an Assistant Professor of the Department of Commerce and Economics to guide students about career and future ventures. He tells us that knowledge is the key to making your career. Studying and holding a degree in hand will not benefit you until you have the right skills. He provides knowledge about the local level, national level, and international levels to make a career.

After that Dr. Ajay Dutta (HOD) Department Of Computer Science and Applications provide very valuable guidance about career through the presentation. He tells students after B.C.A many fields available you choose like Internships, Own Business start-ups, School Service commissions, Indian Railway Services, all competitive Exams, etc. And he also tells about further studies post-graduation like (MCA, MSc IT, NET/SET) and so on. He tells about how to verify company profiles through www.glassdoor.co.in and provides important links for internships to studies and encourages applying for them. He provides information about govt. The sector as well as private sector platforms.

A special Career Guidance Session was organized by Department of Science/Education(Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Life Sciences) under the aegis of Career Guidance and Placement Cell on 24/05/2022 for the final year students of B.Sc.(General), B.Sc. B.Ed. and M.Sc.(Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics). The Session was started with motivational speech by coordinator of the cell Dr. Gurpreet Singh. He motivated students to be aware of various Career related opportunities in their respective fields. The session proceeded with the presentation of Prof. Neeraj Virdi who was the Key speaker of this Session. He enlightened students about various Higher Educational and career related opportunities after 12th, B.Sc.(General), B.Sc. B.Ed. and M.Sc. He provided detailed information to the students about various fields which they can explore after completing their degree.

He also talked about different competitive exams that can be cracked after B.Sc. and M.SC. After the presentation students were asked to put their queries which were duly addressed. At the end of the session, Principal Dr. Baljit Singh appreciated the efforts of the Coordinator and other members of Guidance cell. He also ensured that in future experts will be invited for such guidance sessions so that students can take maximum benefit. This session was attended by more than 60 students and 10 faculty members.

 




Mega Career Counselling 16/12/21 & 20/12/21

A special ‘Mega Career Counselling’, for all the college students of Babbar Akali Memorial Khalsa College, Garhshankar, was organized by the Northern India Regional center of ICAI in collaboration DPI-Chandigarh. The main purpose of the session was to direct the students in the field of accountancy.  CA Avinash Gupta chairperson of the NIRC-ICAI briefed the understudies and invited the Taxguru and CA (Dr.) Girish Ahuja was the key speaker of the program.  He shared his own involvement with his calling and shed light on the significance of the course. CA, Ankit Jain, CA, Preeti malik, CA, Richa Singla, and Sh. Ashish Bhansal was the Guest speaker.  The students took full advantage of this opportunity.  Dr. Baljit Singh, Head of the Institute, lauded the initiative and wished the students all the best for the future.

Career Counselling Session -June 25, 2021

Department of Commerce & Economics organized a Career Counselling Session with B. Com final year students. This session was organized to bring awareness among the students about the career options available after B.Com. Principal, Dr. Baljit Singh, Prof Kanwar Kulwant Singh, and Dr. Gurpreet Singh addressed the students and shed light on the upcoming development plans at the college and department level. Students were educated to get admission to the courses provided by the recognized institutions only. Students actively participated in this session and shared their experiences in the college.

Republic Day 26/01/2023

On January 26, 2023, the NCC Unit of the B.A.M. Khalsa College commemorated the 74th Republic Day. In cooperation with the local administration, this event took place in the grain market close to the bus stop in Garhshankar. The SDM, S. Preetinder Singh Bains, who served as the chief guest, attended this occasion. The national flag was raised by the principal guest to kick off the republic day festivities. The highlight of the event was the March Past of the NCC cadets. The drill demonstration was flawlessly executed by the cadets as they marched to the beat of drums. Participating in the March Past were other NCC contingents. The occasion was notable because school pupils performed a variety of cultural acts.

 

 

 




31st October National Unity Day

NCC Cadets of 08 Punjab Battalion NCC, Phagwara of B.A.M. Khalsa College,  Garhshankar participated in Unity Run to spread the message of good health and happiness on the occasion of Unity Day. Nearly 35 cadets including 25 SW and 10 SD participated in the event and covered the distance of 3KM.
