On ‘International Mentoring Day’ a Mentoring Session on the theme ‘Art of Writing Curriculum Vitae’ was organized by the Department of Commerce & Economics on 17^th January 2023. This program was very well organized under the able guidance of Head of the Department, Prof. Kanwar Kulwant Singh. Students from BCom & MCom classes of the Department were present in this program. Students were guided as to the importance of presenting biodata & art writing a curriculum vitae in this regard through a sample proforma provided in the form of Mentee Record Form.

The honourable SGPC President Advocate S. Harjinder Singh Dhami inaugurated the ultra-modern M.Com. Seminar Hall of the Department of Commerce & Economics. This seminar hall is equipped with Smart LED TV & Sound System. The faculty of Department of Commerce & Economics personally contributed Rs. 4,53,000/- for this seminar hall as per the details below:

On the birth anniversary of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan the “Teacher’s Day” Celebration was organized by the Department of Commerce & Economics. Prof. Kanwar Kulwant Singh welcomed the chief guest, faculty members and students. Principal Dr Baljit Singh also interacted with students and congratulated the faculty members on Teacher’s Day. He welcomed new batches of BCom & MCom and blessed them.

Ms. Ranjeet Kaur, student of MComI, was awarded MCom 1st year books.

A Fresher’s party was organized by ‘Business Students’ Association’ of  Department of Commerce & Economics B.A.M. Khalsa College, Garhshankar. It was an induction programme for new students who have been admitted in BCom and MCom programmes. The programme was very well organized under the guidance of Prof Kanwar Kulwant Singh (HoD). Prof Kanwar Kulwant Singh welcomed the students and introduced to the rules and guidelines for new students. Principal Dr. Baljit Singh also interacted with students and blessed all the students. All freshers of graduate and postgraduate classes of the Department were present. After the introduction, Miss Deepti of Mcom-II welcomed the freshers to the Commerce Family. Various activities, like songs, dance performances, poem recitations etc. were performed at this event.

A one-day workshop on “Practical Approach to Income Tax” was organized by Business Students’ Association under the aegis of the Department of Commerce & Economics. Dr Gurpreet Singh, the convener, organized this workshop under the able guidance of Prof. Kanwar Kulwant Singh, Head of the Department of Commerce & Economics. Mr. Manbir Singh Sandhu, Chartered Accountant, was the key speaker for this workshop.

Organized 10-days of Offline Training on ‘Financial Auditing and ITR E-filing’ under the MOU with Nitin S Gupta & Associates (Chartered Accountant), at Garhshankar in his office. In this training, Ms Vishali, Ms Deepti, Ms Shikha Rani, Ms Pardeep Kumari and Ms Ritika, students of M.Com.1st Year participated enthusiastically.
