A Slogan Competition was organised by the Department of Education to make the students aware about the history of Saka Panja Sahib on 28 October, 2022. Around 20 students participated in this competition. Along with this, all the students of the department took part in the march organised to commemorate the martyrs of Saka Panja Sahib. At the end, the Principal Dr. Baljit Singh inspired students to be motivated from the rich history of Punjab.
Diwali was celebrated on 20 November 2022 by Department of Education. On this occasion Diya/Candle Decoration and Rangoli making competitions were held and the students of B.A.B.Ed and B.Sc.B.Ed participated in this competition. The purpose of this event was to inculcate cultural and aesthetic values among students. HoD, Dr. Sangha Gurbaksh Kaur appreciated the students.
On 10/10/2022 Department of Education of Babbar Akali Memorial Khalsa College, Garhshankar celebrated World Mental Health Day. Dr. Kuljinder Kaur ,Principal of KC. College of Education, Nawanshahr was invited as resource person to deliver an extension lecture on this day. The lecture started with an orientation of World Mental Health Day celebrated by WHO every year on 10th of October. Principal, Dr. Baljit Singh extended formal and floral welcome to the speaker. He talked about the importance of mental health in today’s life. After that the expert of the day proceeded with her lecture. She explained about stress, anxiety and depression. She also shared various real life examples to make her lecture more interesting and interactive. At the end HoD Dr. Sangha Gubaksh Kaur extended hearty thanks to the expert. Principal Dr. Baljit Singh appreciated the efforts of HoD and all organizing committee members.
Teacher’s day was celebrated on 5 September, 2022 by the Department of Education. On this occasion, the students of BA.B.Ed and B.Sc.B.Ed showed gratitude towards their teachers in form of poetry recitation, songs, dance and speech. They also invited teachers to play games on stage and perform various activities. At last, the Principal Baljit Singh addressed the students and gave them best wishes.
On 26 June 2022, Department of Education organized one day trip to Kasauli, Himachal Paradesh, and Pinjore Garden, Haryana. Here they visited Monkey Point, famous historical Christ Church and Heritage Market of Kasauli. Students also had experience of nature tracking of approximately 10 km and they were exposed to beauty of nature and they also enjoyed sight scenes. After having lunch students were taken to Pinjore garden they also enjoyed and purchased fresh fruits mango, litchi etc. in this way this was a educational as well as environmental tour. All the students enjoyed this trip very much.
On 13 June, 2022 a farewell party was organised for the students of session 2018-2022. Students participated in the cultural activities and enjoyed the games planned by their Juniors. Different titles were given to students such as Mr. Farewell, Miss Farewell, Best performer etc. Refreshment was given to the students at the end. It was a memorable for the students and the Staff.
On 16 May, 2022, speech competition was organized by Department of Education of B.A.M. Khalsa College, Garhshankar to celebrate ‘Buddha Purnima. The College students participated in this competition. The names of the winners of this competition are as following:

Prizes were distributed to the winners. The Principal Dr. Baljeet Singh Khehra appreciated the efforts and motivated students to participate in such events in future.
On 12 January 2022, on the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekanand, National Youth Day was celebrated by the NSS Unit in collaboration with Department of Education of B.A.M. Khalsa College Garhshankar. On this special occasion, online Poster making competitions was organized. The theme of poster making was “Youth and Swami Vivekanand”. Around Thirty students participated in this activity. Students shared their posters in pdf/image form in whatsapp group. Students were instructed to shared their posters upto 11:30 am on the same day. Sexual Harassment of women at workplace was celebrated on 09 December 2021 by Department of Education. On this occasion the students of B.A.B.Ed and B.Sc.B.Ed participated. Jasvir Kaur and Shalini student of B.Sc.B.Ed 4th year shared their views on the topic. Professor Lakhwinderjeet Kaur coordinator of Women Grievance and Redressal Cell discussed women and child protection act, 2005 and tried to make students aware of harassment of women at workplace.
On 15 March 2022, Department of Education organized one day trip to Fun City, Chandigarh and Baba Deep Singh Gurdwara sahib, Solkhia (Ropar) for inculcating entertainment and spiritual values in the students. Total 29 students and 3 teachers participated in this trip. The trip started with visit to Gurdwara sahib where all the students paid homage and listen to the Kirtan. After that students were taken to Fun City, Chandigarh (Panchkula) where they enjoyed the amusement park and water park. At last they had lunch together. All the students enjoyed this trip very much.
