Principal, Prof. Lakhwinderjeet Kaur today chaired the last session of the Workshop entitled ” Everyday English Vocabulary”. She addressed the participants and congratulated them all for joining this workshop. She accentuated the importance of English language and its uses at National and International Level.

Principal also applauded the efforts of Asst. Prof. Navdeep Singh for organizing this workshop for the students. Students shared their views regarding the workshop and were thankful and grateful being provided such platform free of cost.

Asst. Prof. Navdeep Singh assured that he would further take such ventures for the betterment of his students.

On 16 August, 2023, an online class was taken by the resource person of A Seven Day Workshop entitled : Everyday English Vocabulary”. The PPT was presented to the participants and participants made this day a fun day by contributing different and interesting sentences for the given vocabulary words. All together, the session was very interactive and interesting.

On the day of 77th Independence Day, a seven day workshop on ” Everyday English Vocabulary” was commenced. On this day, online platform was used to get connected with the students/participants. Asst. Prof. Navdeep Singh started the session with a warm speech and wished the all happy independence day.

All the participants were eager to join the workshop, and they showed great passion for learning English vocabulary. The hallmark of this workshop is the use of local language to optimize the learning outcomes.

The Department of Languages of B.A.M. Khalsa College, Garhshankar always tries to impart quality education to its students. Apart from this, many activities are conducted for the students. From August 15, Asst. Prof. Navdeep Singh will conduct a seven day workshop to improve the vocabulary capacities of the students- who feel shy to speak English, only because of lack of words.

This workshop will be of great help to the students who are not fluent in the English language. College Principal, Prof. Lakhwinderjeet Kaur invites students to take benefit from this workshop. Principal also informed that this workshop was intended to start in the month of April, but because of some reasons was postponed, and now will start from August 15, 2023.

In its bid to provide student centered education, remedial/extra classes for the subject Functional English got started by the College on May 22, 2023. Asst. Prof. Navdeep Singh took the Classes.

This will be great opportunity for the students to clear their doubts or queries before the exam.

“As University exams are impending, so extra/remedial classes would be offered to the students of Functional English”, informed College Principal(o). This would be a good chance for the students to clear their doubts or queries related to the exam. The classes would be taken by Asst. Prof. Navdeep Singh.

Timing will be 11am to 12pm (May 22- June 01, 2023)

Prof. Lakhwinderjeet Kaur, Principal, B.A.M. Khalsa College, Garhshankar, announced today, “One month crash course starts today at College”. This course includes three classes: Spoken English, Basic Knowledge of Computer & Personality Development Classes. This course is open to anyone who wishes to improve his/her skills.

Asst. Prof. Navdeep Singh & Dr. Ajay Dutta are the coordinators of this course.

The course is free of cost. The course starts from May, 05 and ends on June 03, 2023. Timings: 9.30 am to 11.30am

A Seven Day Workshop on “Everyday English Vocabulary” will take place soon at Babbar Akali Memorial Khalsa College, Garhshankar. The workshop will be organised by the Dept. of Languages of the College. This workshop aims at improving the vocabulary capicity of the students. Above all, there will be no fee or cost for attending the workshop. Prof. Navdeep Singh will be the resource person and coordinator for the programe. Interested students can consult/contact Prof. Navdeep Singh for further information. A  brochure related to the same will be posted soon.

Prof. Jaspal Singh, Head, Dept.of Languages got retired on 31st March, 2023. Prof. Jaspal has long service to his credit which spans more than 33 Years. At present, Prof. was also officiating the College as Principal. All the students and faculty members congratulated him and wished him best for the second innings.

In a recently declared result of BA SEM I of Punjab University, Chandigarh, girls again outshined the boys and secured the top positions. Himanshi Sharma with 81% stood first. Kamna with 69% stood second, and Jasmeen with 68.25% stood third. Overall result was satisfactory. Principal and Arts Faculty congratulated the students for getting through the exams and motivated other students to do better in the upcoming University exams.
