On August 19, 2023, the Mathematics Department, in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), organized a competition showcasing 3-D Static Models and Geometric & Mathematical Patterns at Babbar Akali Memorial Khalsa College, Garhshankar.

This event aimed to explore the beauty and significance of 3-D models and geometric patterns in art, design, and mathematics. A total of 25 students from the Science and Education streams participated, presenting various models, including polyhedra such as cubes, spheres, and pyramids. These models were crafted using diverse materials, including paper, cardboard, 3D printing, and wood.

The results were announced on the same day, followed by the distribution of certificates to the winners. The Head of the Mathematics Department praised the students’ creativity and attention to detail in their models and patterns. The event was graced by the presence of Dr. Kuldeep Kaur, Prof. Deepika, Dr Preetinder Singh and other faculty members, who appreciated the students’ efforts and the significance of such activities in enhancing their understanding of mathematical concepts.

Report of Science Fiesta 2022

On National Science Day

To celebrate the National Science Day (28 feb,2022), the department of Mathematics together with other science departments and education department and collaboration with  Institutions Innovation council (IIC)of B.A.M. Khalsa College Garhshankar organised Science Fiesta 2022 : Innovation & Start Up. Dedicated to the theme of 2022 ‘Integrated Approach in Science &Technology for Sustainable Future’, the students prepared Models, Projects, Posters, Power Point Presentation, Games and Rangoli. Approximately 80 students and 30 Faculty members participated in the event. In the Innovative Project category electricity from sound waves bagged first position, alternative fuel got second position and in start-up model category seismic wave solution secured first position, smart sanitizer secured second position. In power point presentation Artificial Intelligence in innovation stood first and Integrated approach for sustainability got second position.In the poster presentation category graphene application for innovation got first position and sustainable development got second position. The winner teams were awarded with prizes and certificates. College principal Dr. Baljit Singh encouraged students to further improve their innovation to register patents and write research papers on their topic.
