He explained how the network is connected through this hub. He shows networking cables, switches from where the data is moving across the campus. All data is maintained by this data centre. The students were inspired by his words, as he cleared every doubt of students.

The Institution of Engineers (India) Punjab & Chandigarh State Centre organized “78th ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING”.
This seminar was attended by many professors and students of different engineering colleges.

After reaching the venue, everyone has to do registration first. Refreshment was available for every participant. Dr. Baljit Singh Khehra (Principal, B.A.M. Khalsa College, Garhshankar), Er. Sukhvir Singh Mundi(Chairman, The Institution of Engineers, India) along with Committee Members of Punjab and Chandigarh State Centre formally welcomed the Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour.

Prof. Janki Aggarwal addressed the audience about 78th annual general meeting.
After that, Ajay kumar kararh presented their presentation on evlaution from 1G to 2G. He explained everything in detail what is used in each evlaution. He explained now few states of India using the 5G technology by the end of January 2023.


After the presentation shields, tokens were giving to retired and newly appointed members.

In the end of seminar, thanks speech was delivered by Prof. Janki Aggarwal.

The topic was delivered by Jagvir Kaur, a MSc (IT) first semester student from Computer Science Department. The topic aimed at introducing the basics of HTML and CSS, so as to cultivate among the students an interest in the area of web development and also to help them take their first steps in their journey as a web developer.
The students were introduced newer tags and shown how to build a more responsive website. They focused more on understanding the logic behind the various lines of code for the responsive version of website. She explained various formats and CSS-related topics like google fonts, color picker, inspecting layouts were introduced to the participants. She reference websites such as MDN and W3Schools, various tags and also a brief introduction to
CSS.

After that in the end, Prof. Pawan Kumar faculty member of DCSA thanked all the students. And thanks to Jagveer Kaur, who shared her notes which she had prepared for the children.

31st October National Unity Day

NCC Cadets of 08 Punjab Battalion NCC, Phagwara of B.A.M. Khalsa College,  Garhshankar participated in Unity Run to spread the message of good health and happiness on the occasion of Unity Day. Nearly 35 cadets including 25 SW and 10 SD participated in the event and covered the distance of 3KM.




Swachtta Rally 19/09/2022

An enormous cleanliness and awareness rally with the topic “Ban on single use plastic” was planned by the NCC Unit of BAM Khalsa College in conjunction with Civil Hospital, Garhshankar, and the MC department to honour Mahatma Gandhi’s birthday.

 

Staff from the hospital, MC, and the cadets was leading the campaign with a missionary Zeal to improve the areas around our town and villages.

 

 




A Two Day Workshop on “Better Writing & Better Pronunciation” Starts from Nov. 18, 2022

 

In its bid to provide best education to one and all, BAM Khalsa College, Garhshankar always strives hard. SGPC, Sri Amritsar Sahib always does its best to help mankind by providing platforms to the members of society at various fronts of Life. Under the guidance and directions of S. Sukhminder Singh, Secretary Education, SGPC, Sri Amritsar Sahib and College Principal Dr. Baljit Singh a two day workshop is going to be organized by the College.

This work shop is especially tailored to suit the needs of teachers who are working in different institutes of SGPC and other schools of the region. This workshop particularly focuses on the writing aspect of English language and its pronunciation. Different resource persons will address the participants. Asst. Prof. Navdeep Singh is the coordinator of this workshop. All teachers are invited to attend the same.

 




Celebration of Punjabi Day by Deptt of Languages

On Nov 12, Dept. of Languages celebrated Punjabi Day by giving emphasis on Punjabi Language-the mother tongue of Punjabis. This day is observed to accentuate the importance of mother tongue and to make students aware regarding the challenges and threats that Punjabi Language is facing at present.

In the race of globalization, Each and every person wants to acquire International Languages such as English, French etc. which is totally acceptable, but what is not acceptable is defaming one’s mother tongue in order to glorify some other languages. To motivate students to take pride in their mother tongue was the basic theme of this event. Prof. Kanwaljeet Kaur addressed the students and raised some serious issues. Professor emphasized the importance of mother tongue i.e. Punjabi and presented some eye opening data to students. Afterwards, Prof. Jaspal Singh gave lecture on History of Punjab, background of Punjabi Language and present situation of this language. Students took great interest in the lecture and afterward they all thanked the staff for giving them such invaluable lessons.

On this occasion, Principal Dr. Baljit Singh applauded the Dept. of Languages for organizing such days. Prof. Arwinder Arora minded the stage. Prof. Lakhwinderjeet Kaur was alsp present there along with all other faculty members.




Freshers Party cum Orientation Programme 13 Sep 2022

A Fresher’s party was organized by ‘Business Students’ Association’ of  Department of Commerce & Economics B.A.M. Khalsa College, Garhshankar. It was an induction programme for new students who have been admitted in BCom and MCom programmes. The programme was very well organized under the guidance of Prof Kanwar Kulwant Singh (HoD). Prof Kanwar Kulwant Singh welcomed the students and introduced to the rules and guidelines for new students. Principal Dr. Baljit Singh also interacted with students and blessed all the students. All freshers of graduate and postgraduate classes of the Department were present. After the introduction, Miss Deepti of Mcom-II welcomed the freshers to the Commerce Family. Various activities, like songs, dance performances, poem recitations etc. were performed at this event.

B.A.M. Khalsa College, Garhshankar had organized the speech competition for students to celebrate the National Unity Day on 31st October, 2022. The main objective of the celebration was to uplift the   unity and spread awareness about Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s contribution to Indian history.

 

The National Unity Day is celebrated in India on 31st October every year. It was introduced by the Government of India in 2014 to pay tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on his birth anniversary for his extraordinary work in keeping India united. This year will mark the 147th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who is also known as the Iron Man of India.

 

The speech competition was held at our college premises. Many students from different streams (Arts, Commerce, Science, Computers) took participation in this competition. Some of the students delivered their speech in Punjabi language and others in English language. All the competitors delivered their speech very confidently. The audiences were highly appreciating this event as it was very informative and knowledge gaining.

 

At the end of the competition, (Prof.) Dr Preetinder Singh announced the winners. The third position was gained by Harpreet Kaur (a student of PGDCA, Computers Department) ,  the second position was occupied by Simran Kaur (a student of B.Sc. B.Ed. ) and the first position was won by Kritika (a student of B.Com. II Year ). Mementos were given as a prize to the winning students to appreciate and encourage their efforts.
