National Youth Day

On 12 January 2022, on the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekanand, National Youth Day was celebrated by the NSS Unit in collaboration with Department of Education of B.A.M. Khalsa College Garhshankar. On this special occasion, online Poster making competitions was organized. The theme of poster making was “Youth and Swami Vivekanand”.  Around Thirty students participated in this activity. Students shared their posters in pdf/image form in whatsapp group. Students were instructed to shared their posters upto 11:30 am on the same day. Lecture on Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace

Sexual Harassment of women at workplace was celebrated on 09 December 2021 by Department of Education. On this occasion the students of B.A.B.Ed and B.Sc.B.Ed participated. Jasvir Kaur and Shalini student of B.Sc.B.Ed 4th year shared their views on the topic. Professor Lakhwinderjeet Kaur coordinator of Women Grievance and Redressal Cell discussed women and child protection act, 2005 and tried to make students aware of harassment of women at workplace.

Celebration of International Mother Language Day on Feb 21, 2022

Dept. of Languages of B.A.M. Khalsa College celebrated International Mother Language Day on Feb 21, 2022. On this day, students were gathered in a LT Room, Where HoD, Prof. Jaspal Singh accentuated the importance of mother tongue and emphasised the importance of learning in one’s own mother tongue. Prof. Kanwaljit Kaur also delivered his lecture on the importance of mother tongue, students did active participation.




Webinar on Sri Guru Teg Bahadur ji de Baani tay Sandesh

(Feb. 22, 2021) To commemorate the 400th anniversary of Sri Guru Teg Bhadur Sahib ji, Dept of Languages organized a webinar on the theme “Sri Guru Teg Bahadur ji de Baani tay Sandesh”. Dr. Gurnam Kaur Bedi, D.Lit holder, was the keynote speaker of the webinar. Dr Bedi gave a great insight to the Bani of Guru ji and motivated the audience to adopt it in their lives. Prof. Jaspal Singh, HoD, thanked the keynote speker for delivering such an outstanding lecture. Principal Dr. Baljit singh applauded Dept. for organizing such event for the betterment of the students.




“A Guest Lecture on Higher Education” Organized

Department of Social Sciences and Languages organized a guest lecture on Feb. 14, 2023 under the banner of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) and Career Guidance and Placement Cell at B.A.M. Khalsa College, Garhshankar. The guest lecture was on higher education and career guidance. Prof. Neeru Chadhary, Deptt of Economics, Shivalik College, Naya Nangal and Prof. (Dr.) Daljit Kaur, Deptt of Pol. Science, Shivalik College, Naya Nangal were invited to deliver expert talks.

In her lecture, Prof. Neeru Chaudhary gave students a detailed knowledge of different PG programs that students can opt after their graduation. She provided all the details related to MA Economics, and tried to cover all the aspects of the same subject ranging from eligibility to the scope of Economics at different levels. Similarly, Prof. Daljit Kaur made students aweare of MA Pol. Sc. and its applications. She explained students how the subject Political Science at Master level can help students to get top notch jobs at different fields of life, ranging from a simple clerk to IAS, IPS, Ambassadors etc. to name a few.

Prof. Ritu Singh was the convener of this event and Prof. Navdeep Singh facilitated the event. All other members of EBSB Club were present there. Cordinator of Career Guidance and Placement Cell, Prof. (Dr.) Gurpreet Singh applauded the convener of the event.

Celebration of World Theatre Day 2022

World Theatre Day is celebrated every year on March 27. Designated by the International Theatre Institute (ITI) in 1961, this day celebrates the essence, beauty, and importance of theatre arts, their significant role in entertainment, and the symbolic impact that theatre has on life. This day also serves to inform governments, politicians, institutions, and stakeholders around the world who have not yet realized the value of theatre to the people and its potential for economic growth. The same event is celebrated on April 05, 2022 by BAM Khalsa College to make students aware of the power of theatre.

The event was organised by Department of Languages of BAM Khalsa College, Garhshankar. Prof. Rittu Singh was the convener of the event. In this, a speech contest was organised and many students participated in the same. Best students were conferred with prizes. Special performance of college students as Bhands captivated the entire audience. The event was a great success. On this occasion, Prof. Jaspal Singh (HoD) addressed the students and made them aware about the art of theatre. Prof. Kanwaljit Kaur performed her duty as stage secretary, whereas all other faculty members, including Prof. Arwinder Arora, Prof. Kiranjot Kaur, Prof. Navdeep Singh, Prof. Poonam were present.

Principal, Dr. Baljit Singh applauded the event and asked the faculty the keep organising such events to horn the talent of students. He especially congratulated the HoD and the convener for organising this event.




National Level E-Quiz Organised by Dept. of Languages

Department of Languages organized National Level E-Quiz Competition (Feb 2022) to commemorate the 400th anniversary of Guru Teg Bhadur Sahib ji. Participants from HP, Delhi, UP and Chandigarh took place in this competition. Prof. Jaspal Singh, Head Dept of Languages, Congratulated to Dr. Arvinder Singh (Convenor) of the event. This quiz was fruitful in imparting knowledge to the students about the life of Sri Guru Teg Bhadur Sahib. E Certificates were given to the students who secured more than 60% marks in this quiz.

The result of M.Sc. (Master’s in Information Technology) first semester and BCA (Bachelor’s in Computer Application) first, third, fifth semester has been declared recently. All the students of Computer Science and Applications Department performed very well. The Principle of BAM Khalsa College Prof. Jaspal Singh and the Head of the Computers’ Department Dr. Ajay Dutta congratulated and give their best wishes to all the students and especially to our Shinning Stars who secured first three positions.
