Best out of waste competition on the occasion of “World Creativity and Innovation Day

On the occasion of “World Creativity and Innovation Day”, Best out of waste competition was organized by Department of Education and Institution’s Innovation cell. The aim of this activity was to instill creativity among students and enable them to innovate by recycling and reusing the waste materials that are easily thrown to the bin. Realizing the theme students created beautiful and useful craft such wind chimes using the egg tray, snow man from waste cloth cuttings, wall hanging from pistachio nut shells and cardboards etc. The crafts created by students were very decorative and Innovative. In this competition MansiRana from B.Sc.B.Ed. III won the first position, Priya from B.A.B.Ed. II won the Second position, Riya from B.Sc.B.Ed. III and Navleen from B.A.B.Ed. I won the third position. The judgement was done by Prof. NareshKumari, HoD of Education Department. At the end, Prof. LakwinderjeetKaur, officiating Principal of the college appreciated the efforts the students and advised them to reuse and recycle the waste material.Prizes were distributed among the winners. The event was also attended by Dr. Ajay Dutta, Coordinator IIC, Prof. Deepika, member IIC and faculty of education department.

Celebration of “National Energy Conservation Day”

National Energy Conservation Day is observed annually on 14th  December in India to raise awareness about the importance of energy conservation and efficiency. In line with this objective, the Department of Chemistry, in collaboration with the III-Society of Science Students, Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), and Mahatma Gandhi National Council for Rural Education (MGNCRE), organized an event of poster presentation on the topic “Empowering Tomorrow: Sustainable Solutions for National Energy Conservation Day” to commemorate this significant day. The event has been conducted under the guidance of Head of the Department and the teaching faculty of the Chemistry Department. The students of various classes have presented their posters to exchange their views on the concerned topic. This event was also attended by Prof. Lakhwinderjeet Kaur (Principal), Dr. Manbeer Kaur (H.O.D lifesciences), Dr. Kuldeep Kaur, Prof. Jaswinder Kaur (H.O.D Mathematics), Dr. Janki Aggarwal, Dr. Mukesh Sharma (H.O.D Chemistry), Dr. Preetinder Singh (H.O.D. Physics) and all the staff members of Science and Education. Organizing committee members for the event of poster presentations are Dr. Mukesh Sharma, Mr. Neeraj Virdi, Prof. Baldeep Kaur, Prof. Anchal. Prof. Lakhwinderjeet Kaur (Principal) also appreciated the posters that has presented by the students in the event. In the celebration of National Energy Conservation Day, around 11 teaching faculties and 18 students of various departments were present.
