Under the able guidance of Principal Dr Amandeep Heera, Dept. of Languages organised an Ext. Lecture on “Use of English in Different Situations”. During this lecture, Prof. Ritu Singh, Head, Dept.of Languages, Prof. Poonam were present and shared their views with the students. Prof. Navdeep Singh was the speaker. Students across all streams joined and got benefited.
On February 28, 2024, the Mathematics Department in collaboration with IIC at Babbar Akali Memorial Khalsa College, Garhshankar, celebrated National Science Day with great enthusiasm. To mark the occasion, a Games and Puzzles Competition was organized, aimed at engaging students in enjoyable yet challenging mathematical activities that promote problem-solving skills and logical thinking.
A total of 30 students from the Science and Education streams participated in the competition. The event successfully combined the celebration of Science Day with the development of important cognitive skills. The results were announced on the same day, with trophies and certificates awarded to the winners. Participation certificates were also distributed to all participants in recognition of their involvement.
The event was attended by Prof. Jaswinder Kaur, Head of the Mathematics Department, along with Prof. Deepika, Prof Preetinder Singh and other faculty members, who praised the students’ enthusiasm and the educational value of the competition.
On August 19, 2023, the Mathematics Department, in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), organized a competition showcasing 3-D Static Models and Geometric & Mathematical Patterns at Babbar Akali Memorial Khalsa College, Garhshankar.
This event aimed to explore the beauty and significance of 3-D models and geometric patterns in art, design, and mathematics. A total of 25 students from the Science and Education streams participated, presenting various models, including polyhedra such as cubes, spheres, and pyramids. These models were crafted using diverse materials, including paper, cardboard, 3D printing, and wood.
The results were announced on the same day, followed by the distribution of certificates to the winners. The Head of the Mathematics Department praised the students’ creativity and attention to detail in their models and patterns. The event was graced by the presence of Dr. Kuldeep Kaur, Prof. Deepika, Dr Preetinder Singh and other faculty members, who appreciated the students’ efforts and the significance of such activities in enhancing their understanding of mathematical concepts.

Students of M. Com. 1st Year class undergone for an Internship in ‘Taxation, Investment, and Information Systems’ (during the session 2023-24) which was conducted under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Nitin S Gupta & Associates, Chartered Accountants, and the Department of Commerce & Economics of B.A.M. Khalsa College, Garhshankar.
The Department of Commerce & Economics at B.A.M. Khalsa College, Garhshankar, hosted an orientation program for the new students admitted into the B.Com. and M.Com. first year classes. Business Students’ Association (BSA) under the direction of Head of the Department Prof. Kanwar Kulwant Singh organized this event very successfully. The audience was greeted by Miss Sejal Sakia, President of the BSA.
Prof. Kanwar Kulwant Singh then greeted the students and explained the regulations and procedures for new students. He also talked with pupils and expressed his excitement and gratitude for choosing BAMKC as their academic home. He also shared a few thoughts and pieces of advice with them. This event featured a variety of activities such as music, dance, and poem reading.
Principal, Dr. Amandeep Heera also joined this event. She congratulated the whole faculty of the Department on the Teachers Day. She welcomed students to this prestigious institution by wishing new students success in the presence of the whole faculty of commerce and economics department.
बब्बर अकाली मैमोरियल खालसा कॉलेज गढ़शंकर में प्राचार्या डॉ. अमनदीप हीरा जी की योग अगवाई में हिन्दी शिक्षक डा. अरविंदर सिंह अरोड़ा द्वारा हिन्दी भाषा दिवस समारोह का सफल आयोजन किया गया। हिन्दी दिवस पर सुंदर लिखाई प्रतियोगिता की गई जिसमें बी. ए.प्रथम वर्ष की छात्रा पायल ने प्रथम , द्वितीय स्थान अर्पिता तथा तृतीय स्थान राधा ने प्राप्त किया। बी. ए. बी.एड की छात्रा ने हिन्दी भाषा पर अपने विचार दिए। प्राचार्या डॉ. अमनदीप हीरा जी ने विद्यार्थियों को उत्साहवर्धक शब्दों के माध्यम से भविष्य में भी समारोह आयोजित करने की प्रेरणा दी।
The Department of Commerce and Economics of B.A.M. Khalsa College, Garhshankar, organized an expert talk by Chartered Accountant Mr. Nitin Gupta. The event aimed to foster the spirit of entrepreneurship among students, inspiring them to explore innovative ideas and venture into the world of business.
The keynote address was delivered by Mr. Nitin Gupta, a Chartered Accountant who has been a guiding force in promoting entrepreneurial mindsets among young students.
Mr. Nitin Gupta, in his keynote address, shared various schemes of the government of India regarding startup, innovation and the incentives provided under these schemes. His motivational talk was well-received by the audience, sparking curiosity and enthusiasm among the students to explore entrepreneurial ventures.
The event was attended by the students and faculty of the Department of Commerce and Economics and Department of Computer Science & Applications. The Principal also lauded the efforts of the IIC in organizing such a meaningful event.
A seven-day workshop titled “English Vocabulary and Phrases” commenced on September 11, 2024. The event is organized by the Department of Languages and Institute’s Innovation Council (IIC), under the esteemed guidance of College Principal Dr. Amandeep Heera. The workshop aims to enhance participants’ vocabulary and phraseology in English, providing them with valuable skills for effective communication. Prof. Navdeep Singh is a coordinator of the Event.

Event Overview: The Institution Innovation Council (IIC) in Collaboration with the Home Science Department of B.A.M. Khalsa College, Garhshankar, celebrated ‘Food Fest’ on the occasion of ‘Nutrition Week’ with great enthusiasm and fervor. The event aimed to foster the spirit of entrepreneurship among students and faculty members, inspiring them to explore innovative ideas and venture into the world of business. The celebration highlighted the importance of entrepreneurship and nutrition in all food items.
Event Proceedings: The students of B.A.M. Khalsa College, Garhshankar participated in this Startup Fest. In this fest, stalls were installed by the students like Gol Gappe, Dahi Bhalla, Aaloo Pratha, Bhel puri, Paasta, Cold Coffee, Kheer, Kadi Chawal, Lassi etc. The students were very enthusiastic for this event. Overall, the students felt that it was a practical activity of marketing. They made profits by selling these items. This event was organized very successfully.
Conclusion:
The Institution Innovation Council (IIC) plans to continue organizing such events to nurture and support the entrepreneurial ecosystem within the college.
Feedback: Participants expressed positive feedback, appreciating the knowledge and inspiration they gained from the fest. Many students showed interest in participating in future IIC activities and workshops.
On 5th September 2024, the Department of Computer Science and Applications at B.A.M. Khalsa College, Garhshankar, organised a Teachers’ Day celebration along with an Orientation Program for B.C.A first-year and PGDCA students, under the leadership of Principal Dr. Amandeep Heera.
