Skill-In-Teaching and Best Teaching Aid Competition

The Department of Education organized two competitions namely, Skill–In- Teaching Competition and the Best Teaching Aid Competition for the 8th-semester students to inculcate teaching skills among them and prepare them for their Internship Programme of 16 weeks. These competitions were held in Teaching of Punjabi, Teaching of English, Teaching of Mathematics, Teaching of Social Studies and Teaching of Science. Students participated enthusiastically in these competitions and prepared the most appropriate teaching aids. Prof. LakhwinderjeetKaur, Principal(O) distributed trophies among winners.




Visit to Govt. High School Pojewal

As per the curriculum of B.A.B.Ed. and B.Sc.B.Ed., the Department of Education organised a School visit to Government High School, Pojewal on November 21, 2023. The purpose of this visit was to acquaint the students with various components of the school plant and enable them to perform a SWOT Analysis of the school. Around 35 students, along with two teachers visited the school and gained valuable knowledge. They interviewed the Principal of the School Mr. Harkesh Lal Mundan, staff members and the students from various classes to seek information of school strength, timetable, basic facilities and other important aspects of school.




Diwali Celebration

On 10 November, 2023 Diwali was celebrated by the Department of Education with pomp and show. On this occasion, Diya Decoration and card-making competitions were organized. Students participated enthusiastically in these events. In Divya decoration first, second and third position was bagged by Priyanka (B.A.B.Ed-III), Priya(B.A.B.Ed.-II) and Saniya (B.Sc.B.Ed.-I) respectively. Similarly in card making competition first position was bagged by Kirandeep (B.Sc.B.Ed.-III), second position by Diksha (B.Sc.B.Ed.-III),  and Poonam Rani (B.A.B.Ed.-II)  and third position by Simran (B.Sc.B.Ed.-II),. The winners were given prizes as a token of appreciation. Prof. Kiranjot Kaur, Assistant Professor, Department of Education appreciated the students’ creativity and motivated them to celebrate clean and green Diwali.




Teacher’s Day Celebration

The Department of Education celebrated Teacher’s Day on 5 September 2023. On this occasion, the students of B.A.B.Ed and B.Sc.B.Ed showed gratitude to their teachers through poetry recitation, songs, dance, and speech. They also invited teachers to play games on stage and perform various activities. At last, the officiating Principal, Prof. Lakhwinderjeet Kaur, addressed the students and gave them best wishes.




Plantation in Campus

 

On 14 August 2023, a plantation drive was launched in the college campus. Students planted saplings for the coming winter season.




Farewell Party 2024

A Farewell party was organized by the Department of Commerce & Economics B.A.M. Khalsa College, Garhshankar. It was a goodbye ceremony for outgoing students of BCom and MCom. This party was very well organized under the able guidance of Head of the Department Prof. Kanwar Kulwant Singh. All students of BCom II, BCom III, MCom I and MCom II were present in this party.




Educational Trip

An educational trip to Amartex Industries Ltd. Panchkula, Haryana & Morni Hills, ‘Tikkar Taal’ managed by the Haryana tourism department, Panchkula was organized by ‘Business Students’ Association’ on 21-10-2023.




Internship in ‘Financial Literacy’

Students of B. Com. Final Year class undergone for an Internship in ‘Financial Literacy’ from 03-06-2024 to 13-06-2024, which was conducted under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Manbir S Sandhu & Associates, Chartered Accountants, and the Department of Commerce & Economics of B.A.M. Khalsa College, Garhshankar.




Prof. Ritu Singh & Prof. Navdeep Singh Conducted a workshop “Grammar Hacks: Quick Fixes for Common Mistakes”

A workshop, held under the able guidance of College Principal Dr. Amandeep Heera, titled “Grammar Hacks: Quick Fixes for Common Mistakes” was organized by Prof. Ritu Singh and conducted by Prof. Navdeep Singh (Department of English/Languages) at B.A.M. Khalsa College, Garhshankar. The event aimed to help students improve their grammar skills with practical tips and strategies.
