Introduction
The Department of Computer Science and Applications, in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), celebrated World Entrepreneurs’ Day with great enthusiasm and zeal. The event aimed to encourage students to embrace entrepreneurial thinking, foster innovation, and develop leadership qualities essential for the startup ecosystem.
World Entrepreneurs’ Day is dedicated to recognizing and appreciating entrepreneurs, innovators, and startup founders who contribute to the growth of the economy and inspire future generations to pursue innovation-driven ventures.
Objectives of the Event
•To create awareness among students about the importance of entrepreneurship.
•To highlight the role of innovation in solving real-world problems.
•To motivate students to develop business ideas and explore startup opportunities.
•To provide a platform for interaction with resource persons, mentors, and peers.
Event Highlights

Inaugural Session:
oThe event commenced with a welcome address by Prof. Navjot Kaur, highlighting the importance of entrepreneurial spirit in today’s digital age.
2.Guest Lecture / Expert Talk:

o A keynote session was delivered by Prof. Jagjivan Kaur on the theme “Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the Digital Era”.
o The speaker shared inspiring insights on startup journeys, challenges, and success strategies.
3.Student Activities:
oIdea Pitching Competition: Students presented innovative startup ideas addressing social, technological, and economic challenges.
o Interactive Q&A Session: Students actively participated by asking questions related to entrepreneurship, funding, and innovation strategies.
4. Closing Remarks:
o The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Ajay Dutta appreciating the efforts of the organizing team, resource persons, and student participants.
Outcomes of the Celebration

WordPress Bootcamp Organized by Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) & Department of Computer Science

Introduction:

The Department of Computer Science, in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), organized the first day of a hands-on WordPress Bootcamp on 28th July 2025. The objective of this bootcamp is to train students in building and managing professional websites using the WordPress platform.

Session Highlights:

  • Welcome Address:
    The session commenced with a warm welcome to the participants and a brief introduction about the bootcamp’s purpose and expected outcomes.

  • Speaker Session – Dr. Ajay Dutta:
    Dr. Ajay Dutta started the session with an overview of web development and the importance of WordPress in modern website creation. He highlighted:

    • Introduction to Content Management Systems (CMS)

    • Why WordPress is the most widely used CMS

    • Real-world applications and career opportunities

  • Hands-on Training:
    Participants were guided through:

    • Setting up a local WordPress environment using XAMPP

    • Installing WordPress

    • Exploring the WordPress Dashboard

    • Understanding themes, plugins, and widgets

  • Interactive Q&A:
    The session concluded with a Q&A where students enthusiastically asked questions related to theme customization and plugin installation.

Feedback:

Students expressed excitement about learning real-world skills. The hands-on approach was especially appreciated. Many participants set up their first WordPress site by the end of the session.

Conclusion:

The first day of the bootcamp was a resounding success, setting a strong foundation for the coming sessions. Participants left with enthusiasm and curiosity to explore more advanced WordPress functionalities in the following days.

Objective of the Event

The IP Week aimed to raise awareness about various aspects of Intellectual Property Rights among students and faculty. Through expert-led sessions, the event educated participants about the importance of patents, copyrights, trademarks, and design registrations, and how IP fosters innovation and protects original ideas.

On the Occasion of National Startup Day and National Startup Week

On 16th January 2025, members of the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) of B.A.M. Khalsa College, Garhshankar, actively participated in the MIC-driven activity “Udyamotsav 2025”, organized by MoE’s Innovation Cell in collaboration with AICTE, Government of India. The event was a part of the celebrations for National Startup Day, aiming to encourage and promote innovation, entrepreneurship, and the spirit of startups across the nation.

Event Highlights:

The event was held on a grand scale and featured an esteemed lineup of speakers and dignitaries. It was graced by the presence of Prof. T. G. Sitharam, Chairman of AICTE, who delivered an insightful keynote address emphasizing the pivotal role of startups in driving India’s economic and technological progress.

The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) of Babbar Akali Memorial Khalsa College, Garhshankar, proudly celebrated National Technology Day on 12th May 2025. The event was held in the SMART Room of the college and commenced at 11:00 AM.

The session was graced by the esteemed speaker, Prof. Kanwar Kulwant Singh, IIC Innovation Ambassador, who shared his insightful perspectives on innovation and the role of technology in shaping the future. His engaging talk emphasized the importance of fostering a culture of innovation in higher educational institutions and highlighted the initiatives undertaken by IIC to promote technological advancements among students and faculty.

The event was organized under the leadership of Dr. Ajay Dutta, President of IIC, and Prof. Deepika, Convener of IIC, who ensured the smooth execution of the program. Their efforts were instrumental in coordinating with the resource person and encouraging student participation.

IIC Mentoring Program for Adopted Atal Tinkering Lab (ATL) School

The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC) of Babbar Akali Memorial Khalsa College successfully conducted a mentoring session aimed at educating students about emerging career opportunities. The session delivered by IIC President Dr. Ajay Dutta, who mentored the students of Jalandhar Public School.

The session began with a motivational keynote address by S. B.S. Bedi, which inspired students and set a positive tone for the program. The discussion focused on the evolving landscape of education policies and emphasized the importance of developing critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills.

To spark enthusiasm among the students, visual presentations highlighted the achievements of young entrepreneurs and patent holders. The importance of establishing Idea Clubs in Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) was also proposed, emphasizing the value of mentor-guided innovation.

BCA Students of B.A.M. Khalsa College, Garhshankar, Shine at Regional Conference on Advances in Technology, Innovation, and Management

The students of Babbar Akali Memorial (B.A.M.) Khalsa College, Garhshankar, made a remarkable impact at the Two-Day Regional Conference on “Advances in Technology, Innovation, and Management” organized by J.D.C. Bytco Institute of Management Studies & Research, Nashik.

The BCA students presented their research papers at this prestigious platform, and their contributions were officially published, highlighting their academic excellence and innovative research.

The following students showcased their research work:

Deeksha Thakur presented her paper on “Impact of Search Engines and AI-based Content Creation Platforms on National and Personal Security.”

Mannat and Diksha collaborated on a research paper titled “Augmented and Virtual Reality in E-Commerce: A Path to Enhanced Consumer Engagement.”

Anchal and Upasna authored a paper on “Cybersecurity Challenges in the Digital Age: Personal and National Threats from Data Sharing,”

under the expert guidance of Dr. Ajay Dutta, Head of the Computer Science Department.

This achievement is a testament to the strong research culture nurtured at B.A.M. Khalsa College under the leadership of Principal Dr. Amandeep Heera. Inauguration of Dedicated Websites for the Department of Computer Science and the Department of Commerce, along with the Launch of the Upgraded College News Portal at B.A.M. Khalsa College

Taking a significant step towards digital transformation, B.A.M. Khalsa College, Garhshankar, launched dedicated websites for the Department of Computer Science and the Department of Commerce. Along with this, the upgraded version of the College News Portal, equipped with modern features, was also inaugurated.

The inauguration ceremony was led by the Principal, Dr. Amandeep Heera, who officially launched the websites and the news portal.

This digital innovation aims to provide students with the latest academic information, research updates, and departmental activities. The newly launched websites will ensure quick access to departmental updates, academic resources, and other essential information.

The upgraded College News Portal will serve as an effective platform for promoting institutional achievements, activities, and news on a broader scale. It will enhance communication and information exchange between students, faculty, and the community.

Dr. Amandeep Heera congratulated the teams from the Computer Science and Commerce departments on this significant initiative and expressed confidence that this digital advancement would mark a new chapter in students’ academic and professional growth.
