Educational trip to Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC), Chandigarh
An educational trip to ICCC (Integrated Command and Control Centre Chandigarh) was organized by ‘Business Students’ Association’ on 10-02-2023. This one day trip was organized under the able guidance of Prof. Kanwar Kulwant Singh, HoD. Students gained knowledge about the Control Centre of ‘Smart City’ Chandigarh. The manager of ICCC personally interacted with students and shared his methodology on how they control and monitor the whole city’s security, waste management, traffic routing and city bike pooling etc. He also explained how they manage all the data across other departments.
After this educational session the trip advanced to an entertainment zone i.e. for Chokhi Dhani, Panchkula. This was very enjoyable for students. All enjoyed food, games, rides, cultural activities and much more.

Two Day Workshop on Research Methodology
Under the aegis of IQAC a two day workshop on Research methodology and practices was organized by the Department of Commerce & Economics in collaboration with the Department of Computer Science. The convener of this workshop was Dr. Gurpreet Singh. The resource person of this workshop was Dr Harjeet Kaur, Assistant Professor in Economics. On the first day Dr. Preetinder Singh was the moderator. He introduced the key speaker with the audience. This workshop was started with the welcome speech of Dr. Ajay Dutta (Head) Department of Computer Science. He welcomed all the participants present there. Dr. Harjeet Kaur started her lecture with a PPT on Research Methodologies. She thoroughly discussed the research process, methods used and also put some light on the technicalities of a research. All graduate and post graduate students of both Departments were present in this programme.
On the second day the moderator was Prof. Navdeep Singh. Dr. Harjeet Kaur discussed the research paper, how to write a research paper, steps to be followed and things to be considered while writing a research paper . This workshop was closed with the Principal’s Speech. Prof. Jaspal Singh addressed the audience and also congratulated both departments for successful completion of this workshop. The key speaker was honored with a certificate. In the end Prof. Kanwar Kulwant Singh presented a vote of thanks to the audience. 

Dr Pooja Aggarwal from Jagat Guru Nanak Dev Punjab State Open University, Patiala, delivered lecture on skill development to the students.

International Day for Universal Access to Information
On “International Day for Universal Access to Information” a PowerPoint Presentation competition was organized. Students from various classes were present in this programme. Ms Sejal Sakia enthusiastically hosted this event. Ms Kritika, Ms Sharandeep Kaur, Mr Kanahya Moudgill of B. Com. II and Ms Anmol, Mr Arsh Kumar of BCom I presented their PowerPoint presentations.

All participants were awarded certificates. Ms Kritika, Ms Shrandeep and Mr Kanahya Moudgill respectively secured first, second & third positions.

International Mentoring Day
On ‘International Mentoring Day’ a Mentoring Session on the theme ‘Art of Writing Curriculum Vitae’ was organized by the Department of Commerce & Economics on 17th January 2023. This program was very well organized under the able guidance of Head of the Department, Prof. Kanwar Kulwant Singh. Students from BCom & MCom classes of the Department were present in this program. Students were guided as to the importance of presenting biodata & art writing a curriculum vitae in this regard through a sample proforma provided in the form of Mentee Record Form.
