The BCA Student Orientation Program is designed to welcome new students into the Bachelor of Computer Applications program. This orientation will help students understand the academic structure, departmental resources, industry opportunities, club activities, and college facilities.

Farewell Party : Jashan E Rukhsat 2025

A Farewell party themed ‘Jashan E Rukhsat’ was organized by the Department of Commerce & Computer Science and Applications B.A.M. Khalsa College, Garhshankar. It was a goodbye ceremony for outgoing students of BCom, BCA, PGDCA and MCom. This party was very well organized under the able guidance of Head of the Department Prof. Kanwar Kulwant Singh and Dr. Ajay Dutta. All students of BCom II, BCom III, BCA II, BCA III, PGDCA,  MCom I and MCom II were present in this party. Juniors wish their seniors good luck in various forms like a welcome speech by Harpreet Kaur for their future endeavors. Ranjit Kaur of MCom II sang a very beautiful song. Students of MCom II and BCom III participated in various activities and games. One special round for selection of Mr Farewell and Miss Farewell was also arranged. Exciting games were also arranged for outgoing students like paper dance, freeze dance, caterpillar race, etc. and were enjoyed by all. 

The department of computer science and applications was awarded with a cash prize of ₹ 5,000 for designing the website of department of Commerce and also financial assistance of ₹ 5,000 was provided to students under IIC Startups by Business Students’ Association of department of Commerce at the farewell party. 

Finally, Ms Monika Devi as ‘Miss Farewell’  and Mr Harsh Rana as ‘Mr Farewell’ crowned from MCom. Ms Prinka was crowned with the title of ‘Miss Farewell’ and Mr Arsh Kumar was awarded with the title of ‘Mr Farewell’ from BCom. Ms Deeksha Thakur was crowned with the title of ‘Miss Farewell’ and Mr Tanesh Dhiman was awarded with the title of ‘Mr Farewell’ from BCA. Lastly Mr Amandeep was awarded with ‘Mr Farewell’ from PGDCA batch 2024-25. 

In the end Prof. Kanwar Kulwant Singh, head of the Department of Commerce proposed a vote of thanks and wished good luck to the students of MCom II, PGDCA, BCom III and BCA III for their future and appreciated the efforts of Junior classes. He also expressed his hope that students will continue holding top positions in the university. He also congratulated the whole faculty of the Department of Commerce and Computer Science for organizing such a wonderful farewell. Principal Dr. Amandeep Heera also blessed the students for their brightest future. All faculty members of the college were present in this farewell.




BCA Students of B.A.M. Khalsa College, Garhshankar, Shine at Regional Conference on Advances in Technology, Innovation, and Management

The students of Babbar Akali Memorial (B.A.M.) Khalsa College, Garhshankar, made a remarkable impact at the Two-Day Regional Conference on “Advances in Technology, Innovation, and Management” organized by J.D.C. Bytco Institute of Management Studies & Research, Nashik.

The BCA students presented their research papers at this prestigious platform, and their contributions were officially published, highlighting their academic excellence and innovative research.

The following students showcased their research work:

Deeksha Thakur presented her paper on “Impact of Search Engines and AI-based Content Creation Platforms on National and Personal Security.”

Mannat and Diksha collaborated on a research paper titled “Augmented and Virtual Reality in E-Commerce: A Path to Enhanced Consumer Engagement.”

Anchal and Upasna authored a paper on “Cybersecurity Challenges in the Digital Age: Personal and National Threats from Data Sharing,”

under the expert guidance of Dr. Ajay Dutta, Head of the Computer Science Department.

This achievement is a testament to the strong research culture nurtured at B.A.M. Khalsa College under the leadership of Principal Dr. Amandeep Heera. Congratulating the students, Dr. Heera expressed his pride in their dedication and emphasized the institution’s commitment to fostering innovation and research excellence.

Inauguration of Dedicated Websites for the Department of Computer Science and the Department of Commerce, along with the Launch of the Upgraded College News Portal at B.A.M. Khalsa College

Taking a significant step towards digital transformation, B.A.M. Khalsa College, Garhshankar, launched dedicated websites for the Department of Computer Science and the Department of Commerce. Along with this, the upgraded version of the College News Portal, equipped with modern features, was also inaugurated.

The inauguration ceremony was led by the Principal, Dr. Amandeep Heera, who officially launched the websites and the news portal.

This digital innovation aims to provide students with the latest academic information, research updates, and departmental activities. The newly launched websites will ensure quick access to departmental updates, academic resources, and other essential information.

The upgraded College News Portal will serve as an effective platform for promoting institutional achievements, activities, and news on a broader scale. It will enhance communication and information exchange between students, faculty, and the community.

Dr. Amandeep Heera congratulated the teams from the Computer Science and Commerce departments on this significant initiative and expressed confidence that this digital advancement would mark a new chapter in students’ academic and professional growth.

Prof. Kanwar Kulwant Singh and Dr. Ajay Dutta also shared their views, stating that this technological upgrade would further enhance interaction and information flow between students and faculty. Trip to Visit to Cremica Food Industries Ltd.

The Department of Commerce and Computer Science, in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), organized an industrial visit to Cremica Food Industries Ltd. on [Date of Visit]. A total of 50 students, accompanied by five faculty members, participated in this enriching learning experience. The visit was conducted under the supervision of Prof. Gursingh Singh Kalsi, providing students with an opportunity to gain practical insights into the food processing industry.

Objective of the Visit:

The primary objective of this visit was to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and industrial practices. The students were exposed to real-time operations, quality control measures, supply chain management, and automation technologies used in food processing.

Key Highlights of the Visit:

  1. Company Overview: The visit commenced with an introduction to Cremica Food Industries Ltd., highlighting its history, product range, and market presence.
  2. Manufacturing Process: The students were taken through various production lines, observing the stages of food processing, from raw material selection to packaging.
  3. Quality Control & Hygiene Standards: The industry experts explained the importance of maintaining hygiene and quality control protocols to ensure food safety.
  4. Technology & Automation: Students gained insights into how modern technologies, including automated systems and AI-driven machinery, are integrated into food production.
  5. Entrepreneurial Insights: Company representatives provided valuable insights into business strategies, branding, and supply chain management.

Model Making Competition

The Department of Computer Science of  B.A.M. Khalsa College, Garhshankar  in Collaboration with the Institution Innovation Council (IIC)  celebrated Model Making Competition at Computers’ Lab of  B.A.M. Khalsa College, Garhshankar.  The event aimed to foster the spirit of innovation among students and faculty members, inspiring them to explore innovative ideas and venture into the world . The celebration highlighted the importance of technology in today era. 40 Students of Computer Science Department actively took part in this event and make different models on technology like :

Inauguration of Augmented & Virtual Reality Bootcamp

The Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), Career Guidance and Placement Cell, and the Department of Computer Science at Babbar Akali Memorial Khalsa College, Garhshankar, in collaboration with the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT), Chandigarh, proudly inaugurated the Augmented & Virtual Reality Bootcamp on February 28th, 2025. This bootcamp, conducted under the FutureSkills PRIME Scheme, aims to provide participants with in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in AR/VR technologies and game development.

The inaugural session commenced in the esteemed presence of Dr. Amandeep Heera, Principal of the College, who extended a warm welcome to all distinguished guests, faculty members, and students. He emphasized the significance of emerging technologies like Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) in revolutionizing industries and creating new career opportunities for students.
Dr. Sarwan Singh, Joint Director, NIELIT, delivered the keynote address, highlighting the increasing demand for AR/VR applications in various sectors, including gaming, healthcare, education, and entertainment. He encouraged students to leverage this bootcamp as a stepping stone for developing industry-relevant skills.
The event was also graced by Prof. Kanwar Kulwant Singh (HOD, Commerce Department), Prof. Gurpreet Singh Kalsi and Prof. Deepika (Convener, IIC). Dr. Ajay Dutta (President, IIC) also addressed the audience, discussing the role of AR/VR technologies in fostering technical proficiency among students.


The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Prof. Kanwar Kulwant Singh, expressing gratitude to Dr. Sarwan Singh and his team members Mr. Lovnish Verma and Mr. Nikshep Paliwal and all attendees for their enthusiastic participation.
This five-day bootcamp (March 3 – March 7, 2025) is expected to equip students with cutting-edge knowledge, fostering innovation and skill development in AR/VR technologies.

 




BCA Third Year Students Launch Startup ‘VICO’ for e-Learning and Digital Branding

Department of Computer Science and Applications is celebrating the entrepreneurial achievement of two of its BCA students, Anchal and Upasna, who have successfully launched their own company named as, Visual Intelligence of Coding (VICO).

Registered under the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Govt. of India, VICO is dedicated to providing e-Learning, Website Designing, and Digital Branding services. Their venture aims to blend technology and creativity, fostering innovation in the digital space.

The college’s Incubation Centre (IIC) has played a significant role in supporting and mentoring the students in their journey. Dr. Amandeep Heera, Principal of Babbar Akali Memorial Khalsa College and Dr. Ajay Dutta, Head of department of computer science and applications, extended heartfelt congratulations to Anchal and Upasna, applauding their dedication, vision, and entrepreneurial spirit.

“This achievement is an inspiration to all students, proving that with hard work and innovative thinking, young minds can shape the future of technology and business,” remarked Dr. Heera.

VICO’s launch marks a proud moment for the institution, showcasing the growing culture of startups and self-reliance among students. The entire college community wishes them great success in their entrepreneurial journey.




Quiz Competition on Cyber Security

The Department of Computer Science and applications, in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), successfully organized a Cyber Security Quiz Competition on 12th January 2025. This initiative aimed to raise awareness about cyber security threats, enhance technical knowledge, and promote a culture of digital safety among students.

All the undergraduate and postgraduate students from various disciplines were allowed to participate in the quiz. As a result, over 40 students enthusiastically participated in this quiz competition. Many questions regarding cyber threats, security and precautions were asked from the competitive teams and Interactive Q&A sessions with the audience which enhanced the knowledge of all regarding the subject. The winners were awarded with certificates and prizes to acknowledge their efforts. Also, participation certificates were also distributed to all the other participants.

The Cyber Security Quiz Competition was a resounding success, fostering awareness about the importance of cyber hygiene. Participants expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to learn in an engaging manner.

The event was meticulously planned and executed under the guidance of event coordinator Prof. Harpreet Kaur and team members – Prof. Kamini, Prof. Narinder Jit Kaur, Prof. Priyanka Bhatia and Prof. Harjot Kaur.

The Department of Computer Science and the Institution’s Innovation Council extend their sincere thanks to all participants, faculty members, and the institution’s leadership for their unwavering support in making the event successful.




Result Out – Shinning Stars of BCA 2nd Year

The result of Bachelor’s in Computer Application (BCA) third semester has been declared on 31st  January, 2025. All the students of BCA III-Semester of Computer Science and Applications Department performed very well. The Principle of B.A.M. Khalsa College, Dr. Amandeep Heera and the Head of the Computers’ Department Dr. Ajay Dutta congratulated them and give their best wishes to all the students and especially to our Shinning Stars who secured first three positions as well as to the teachers who make them able to achieve this.
