Educational Visit on “21 April, 2023”.

 

The Department of Chemistry of B.A.M. Khalsa College, Garhshankar has organized an educational visit to Department of Chemistry & Centre for Advanced Studies in Chemistry, Panjab University, Chandigarh. In this visit, Dr. Mukesh Sharma and Mr. Neeraj Virdi accompanied the 9 Students of M.Sc.-Chemistry from the department. In this visit, students were given exposure to working of various highly sophisticated instrumental techniques like FTIR, CHNS-O analyser, U.V. Spectrophotometer, Fluorescence & Zetasizer etc. This visit has enriched the student’s knowledge to excel in the field of chemical research.

Ms Sejal Sakia of B.Com. 1st Year represented Panjab University, Chandigarh team & stood Third in Debate Competition of ‘36th Inter University North Zone Youth Festival’ held on 01-02-2023 at ‘University of Jammu’

Sejal Sakia success journey in Debate Competition:

  • She secured 1st Position in Panjab University Zonal Youth & Heritage Festival Held From October 14-17,2022 at Baba Balraj Panjab University Constituent College, Balachaur. 
  • She secured 2nd Position in 63rd Panjab University Inter Zonal Youth and Heritage Festival held from November 10-13, 2022 at Swami Premanand Mahavidyalaya, Mukerian. 
  • She secured 3rd Position in Punjab State Inter University Competition held from December 10-12, 2022 at Punjabi University, Patiala. 
  • She secured 3rd Position in 36th Inter University Youth Festival held from January 31-February 4, 2023 at University of Jammu, Jammu.
  • She participated in 36th Inter University National Youth Festival held from February 24 to February 28, 2023 at Jain University Bengaluru. 

 




Visit to FCI Garhshankar and Apiary on 11/04/2023

A survey (visit) for B.Sc,B.Sc.B.Ed -6th sem. students was organized , by the Department of Life Sciences of B.A.M. Khalsa College Garhshankar. Firstly students visited the village Hazipur.There, Mr. Sahil is Bee keeper,who took training 6 years ago from KVK Bahowal. He is a successful bee keeper. He explained everything about Bee keeping to the students. Students gained practical Knowledge.

After Bee Keeping ,students visited  FCI ,Garhshankar. Here students  understood Stored grain management. Technical Knowledge of fumigation, Moisture Content, Stacking and lifting etc.was gained by the students. Mr. Sanjay Taneja Manager (depot)and Mr. Vaibhau Garg ,Tech.Assitt (I) gave indepth knowledge to the students. The Visit was  possible with the efforts of HOD of Department – Dr. Manbeer Kaur, Prof. Ashwani Kumar, Prof. Jaspreet Kaur & Lab Attendents-Jaspal Singh & Hardeep Singh.

Dept. of Languages to Start -a Seven Day Workshop on “Everyday English Vocabulary”

A Seven Day Workshop on “Everyday English Vocabulary” will take place soon at Babbar Akali Memorial Khalsa College, Garhshankar. The workshop will be organised by the Dept. of Languages of the College. This workshop aims at improving the vocabulary capicity of the students. Above all, there will be no fee or cost for attending the workshop. Prof. Navdeep Singh will be the resource person and coordinator for the programe. World Water Day 22/03/2023




World Water Day 22/03/2023

World water was celebrated on 22/03/2023 by Life Sciences department in collaboration with REEDS and IIC. On this occasion

an essay writing competition on the topic “How I Will Conserve Water In This Summer?”.  26 students of B.Sc , B.Sc B.Ed presented there ideas on this topic. Kirandeep Kaur 1st , Riya 2nd and Moksha Sahota took 3rd Position in this competition.




Head, Dept. of Languages Superannuates

Prof. Jaspal Singh, Head, Dept.of Languages got retired on 31st March, 2023. Prof. Jaspal has long service to his credit which spans more than 33 Years. At present, Prof. was also officiating the College as Principal. All the students and faculty members congratulated him and wished him best for the second innings.




BA SEM I Result Out, Girls Secured Top Positions

In a recently declared result of BA SEM I of Punjab University, Chandigarh, girls again outshined the boys and secured the top positions. Himanshi Sharma with 81% stood first. Kamna with 69% stood second, and Jasmeen with 68.25% stood third. Overall result was satisfactory. Principal and Arts Faculty congratulated the students for getting through the exams and motivated other students to do better in the upcoming University exams.
