Introduction

The Career Guidance and Placement Cell of Babbar Akali Memorial Khalsa College, Garhshankar, in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), successfully conducted Mock Interview – Round 1 on 1st March 2025. The session aimed to provide students with a real-time interview experience and help them develop confidence in facing professional interviews.

The event was conducted under the guidance and support of Dr. Amandeep Heera, Principal, whose vision focuses on enhancing students’ career opportunities through such practical learning initiatives.

Objectives of the Event

  • To provide students with a practical understanding of interview techniques.
  • To enhance communication, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
  • To build confidence and reduce interview-related anxiety.
  • To offer expert feedback for improvement.

Event Highlights

The session was guided by Dr. Gurpreet Singh, Coordinator, CGPC, who provided valuable insights into interview strategies, employer expectations, and key areas of improvement for the students. Under his guidance, the mock interviews were conducted in a professional setting, where students were assessed on various parameters such as body language, technical knowledge, problem-solving ability, and overall personality.

Students actively participated in the session, answering a variety of technical and HR-based questions. Dr. Ajay Dutta provided individual feedback, highlighting strengths and suggesting areas for improvement. The session was interactive, allowing students to clarify doubts regarding interview techniques and industry expectations.

Conclusion

The Mock Interview – Round 1 was a highly engaging and insightful session, equipping students with the necessary skills to face job interviews confidently.
