Objective of the Event
The IP Week aimed to raise awareness about various aspects of Intellectual Property Rights among students and faculty. Through expert-led sessions, the event educated participants about the importance of patents, copyrights, trademarks, and design registrations, and how IP fosters innovation and protects original ideas.
Session-wise Details
Day 1: 21st April 2025
Title: Inauguration of IP UTSAV and Celebration of World Creativity and Innovation Day
Time: 11:30 AM – 01:00 PM
Key Points:
- Official opening of IP Week.
- Emphasis on the role of creativity in IP generation.
- Call for innovation-driven education culture.
Day 2: 22nd April 2025
Title: Masterclass on Patents and Design Registration
Key Points:
- Explained the patent filing process and design protection mechanisms.
- Encouraged faculty and students to create patentable projects.
- Shared best practices for drafting and submission.
Day 3: 23rd April 2025
Title: Masterclass on Copyrights – “Copy That!”
Key Points:
- Difference between plagiarism and copyright infringement.
- Importance of copyright registration for digital content and academic material.
- How to protect original works.
Day 4: 24th April 2025
Title: Masterclass on Trademarks and Geographical Indications – “Mark the Spot!”
Key Points:
- Role of branding and trademarks in business.
- Explanation of GIs in protecting local/regional products.
- Steps to register a trademark.
Day 5: 25th April 2025
Title: Significance of IP Protection and Commercialization
Key Points:
- Real-life examples of IP monetization.
- Need for institutional IP policies.
- Importance of converting ideas into products.
Day 6: 26th April 2025
Title: Patent to Product (Srujanta Se Samruddhi)
Key Points:
- Roadmap from innovation to market-ready products.
- Collaboration with industry partners for commercialization.
- Tools and schemes provided by AICTE and MIC for support.
