Introduction
The Department of Commerce and the Department of Computer Science, in collaboration with the Institutional Innovation Cell (IIC) and the Business Students Association (BSA), organized an Induction Program for the first-year students of B.Com., B.C.A., and M.Com. on 20 August 2025 at Babbar Akali Memorial Khalsa College, Garhshankar.
The purpose of the induction program was to welcome the new students, familiarize them with the institutional environment, and provide insights into academic, cultural, and entrepreneurial opportunities available at the college.

Welcome Address:
The event commenced with a warm welcome to the freshers, where the faculty members introduced the vision, mission, and values of the institution. -
Introduction to IIC and BSA:

Faculty coordinators briefed the students about the Institutional Innovation Cell (IIC) and its role in promoting entrepreneurship and innovation.

The Business Students Association (BSA) was introduced as a platform to enhance business acumen, leadership, and collaborative learning.

Departmental Orientation:

Faculty members from both the Commerce and Computer Science departments highlighted the curriculum structure, extracurricular activities, and career opportunities.

Students were encouraged to actively participate in departmental clubs and societies.

Inspirational Guidance:

Prof. Kanwar Kulwant Singh addressed the gathering and inspired the students to work with dedication, discipline, and innovation. He emphasized the importance of holistic development and urged students to make the best use of resources provided by the college.

Conclusion
The Induction Program for the first-year students of B.Com., B.C.A., and M.Com. proved to be a successful and enriching initiative. With the active support of IIC, BSA, and both departments, the event laid a strong foundation for the students’ academic and professional growth.
