Under the guidance of Principal, Dr Amandeep Heera, Department of English has organized a Three-Day Workshop on “English Vocabulary and Idiom Skills” from 10 March to 12 March, beginning 1:00 PM onwards each day. The workshop is open to all college students and aims to enhance their vocabulary, strengthen their understanding of idiomatic expressions, and improve their overall communication skills in English.
The workshop commenced today, 10 March, with the objective of helping students develop a richer vocabulary and gain practical knowledge of commonly used idioms in English. The sessions are designed to introduce students to a variety of words, phrases, and idiomatic expressions that are widely used in both spoken and written communication.
Through interactive activities such as vocabulary exercises, language games, group discussions, and contextual learning, students are being encouraged to actively participate and practice the usage of idioms in real-life communication. The workshop also focuses on improving students’ confidence in speaking and writing English effectively.
Students from different streams of the college have shown enthusiastic participation in the programme. The initiative by the Department of English aims to create a supportive learning environment where students can develop stronger language skills and expand their command of English vocabulary.
The workshop will continue until 12 March, and it is expected to provide participants with valuable insights and practical strategies for enhancing their English language proficiency.
